There are three components which are: Education, Recreation and Giving Back. These components cover a range of the following:
Education:
* Community Law centre seminars
* barista training
* Drivers licence (next level you need)
* First Aid Certificate
* Public Speaking
* CV prep and Job interview skills
* Budgeting advice
* Te Reo
Recreation:
* Two week long camps through Mlue Mountain
Adventure Centre (BMAC - Tongaririo, National Park). Camps will range from the following depending on time of year and season - rock climbing at whanganui Bay, canoeing down Wanganui River, abseiling, white water rafting, snow tramping/caving, tramping in Napier.
- Students can receive credits through successful
completion of these camps.
* Fitness evaluation and training sessions
* Planning and running high school sports events
* Boxing
* High ropes course, Pole Swing, Kayaking
Giving Back:
* Weekly Wednesday Youth Meal - Course members will ploan, prepare and serve Wednesday Youth meal to the 614 Corps community.
- Course members will also help to set up and run
games for the 614 youth as well as be present for
the weekly pastoral message.
* Tapu te Ranga Marae sleepover
- Course members will lay down a hangi as part of a
youth meal visit to Tapu te Ranga Marae in Island
Bay. Courfse members will also spend the night at
the Marae.
* Friday Night Street Beat Van
- handing out free hotdogs and hot/cold drinks to the
community on Friday night. Once a course students
will be delegated their chance to be a part of this
community project.
* Community projects - e.g., serving drinks and
assisting at regional sports events
Upon successful completion of the 10 weeks course members can celebrate amongst family, friends and supporters at their very own graduation ceremony.
