Thank you Daisy Jake Hairdressing for raising awareness of Parkinson’s throughout April and for donating to Parkinson’s New Zealand.

The team looks good in red!

April was our month for Parkinson’s.

Throughout the month, we were dedicated to raising awareness and funds for Parkinson’s New Zealand in the salon. And thanks to you, we’ve raised $527.

This was made possible through your generous donations, along with $1 from every product sold throughout April being contributed.

Every contribution, every conversation, and every bit of support has helped shine a light on Parkinson’s and the people it affects.

To our incredible community, thank you for caring and for being part of something that matters to our team.

Team Daisy Jake 🧡

Dr Regina Katzenschlager was a highly respected neurologist, President of the Austrian Parkinson Society and a researcher who dedicated decades to improving care and quality of life for people with Parkinson’s.

Dr Regina was in New Zealand on holiday but tragically passed away late last month.

Our gratitude to Regina for her lifelong commitment to the Parkinson’s community and our condolences to all now living with her loss.

Shout out to all who joined the Red Tulip Walk in Palmerston North on the Square on World Parkinson's Day.

The event made front page on the Manawatu Standard raising significant awareness of Parkinson's in Aotearoa. With up to 200 people enjoying the event, and the Clock Tower glowing blue for Spark the Night, this year's Red Tulip Walk was an incredible success. Thank you to all the volunteers, sponsors and participants who made the Red Tulip Walk in the Manawatu such an inspiring community event.

Thank you HealthCare NZ for your support of Spark the Night and for walking alongside the 13,000 New Zealanders and their whānau who are living with Parkinson’s today.

Lighting up Aotearoa for people living with Parkinson’s
This World Parkinson’s Day (11 April), we stand alongside the thousands of New Zealanders living with Parkinson’s and their whānau, recognising their daily challenges and journeys.

HealthCare New Zealand is proud to support Spark the Night, a global campaign lighting up landmarks in blue across New Zealand and around the world, showing solidarity with the 11.8 million people living with Parkinson’s worldwide.

Every day, we walk alongside people with Parkinson’s and their whānau, supporting them to stay independent, connected, and live well on their own terms.

Look out for landmarks lit up in blue in your community, snap a photo, and share your support.
Together, we can raise awareness and help people living with Parkinson’s feel more connected and supported.
