Today an historic event took place for the profession of psychology in Aotearoa. At an event at Pipitea Marae in Wellington, the NZ Psychological Society and the NZ College of Clinical Psychologists delivered an apology for the ways in which the discipline of psychology has perpetuated racism and breaches to te Tiriti o Waitangi.

The apology was delivered by the presidents of the two organisations, NZCCP president Dr Clare Couch and NZPsS president Iris Fonantilla. This was followed with an opportunity for those present to respond to the apology.

You can read the full apology and the associated strategic plan here:https://www.psychology.org.nz/application/files/3017/9071/2434/Psychology_Apology_FINAL_WITHOUT_PROGRAMME.pdf
