A huge "thank you" to all those whanau who visited their local kindergarten last weekend. We hope the experience was a great one. For some, a new experience, but for many, a trip down memory lane.
For all the past pupils that visited, I know your teachers were so pleased and proud of the amazing people you all are.

Thank you all for understanding about today. We have had a few trees needing sorting and roofing issues to deal with along with cleaning up of branches etc today.
But WE ARE ALL OPEN TOMORROW.

Please pass the word

We hope all our staff and whanau are safe and hunkered down with these high winds.
Because the winds are expected to continue till 3am there will be no chance to check properties and let you know in advance, the particular situation, at your specific kindergarten.
BECAUSE OF THIS WE ARE CLOSING ALL OUR KINDERGARTENS TOMORROW.
Head Teachers are reaching out to families as I write this. In the morning (if roads allow) we will assess the fencings trees and buildings for damage etc. We will have the Head Teachers let you know the outcome and what will be happening for Tuesday sometime tomorrow.
We know its never easy to not have kindergarten available but for safety sake this is what we are doing.
Stay safe whanau

As another big storm heads toward Aotearoa. We ask all our whanau to stay safe and hunker down. Evacuate if you feel unsafe. The association management team will be monitoring the situation and making determinations based on civil defense advice and local conditions to determine if our kindergartens will be open on Monday. We will let you know via each kindergarten reaching out to you to let you know whats happening when we know.

Nau Mai. Haere mai
Have you every wondered what your local kindergarten is like inside the grounds and the building?
Has it always been too tricky to go in during the week because of work pressure and the business of getting kids ready for school etc?

Well on the 18th April (saturday) to celebrate Kindergarten Day, all kindergartens that are part of Gisborne Kindergarten Association are opening from 10am to 1pm so you and your whanau can pop on in and have a look around.

We have Kindergartens in Tutira, Wairoa, Gisborne , Whangara, Makauri and Ormond.

All are welcome.

Come in and visit or perhaps replay memories of times when your children attended.
There will be simple kai to share and we all know how excited the teachers will be to connect or perhaps reconnect with you all
Come along and enjoy

Having closed all of our kindergartens today as a precaution after the state of emergency was declarec, we are greatful that all our kindergartens are opening again tomorrow.

Our hearts and thoughts are with those who are still cut off or who are dealing with heartache across the country after the tropical storm hit with a fierceness many didnt expect.

Please be safe out there and take no risks.

Look out for each other as we navigate the challenges ahead as a community

Nga mihi o te hau hou whanau.

What does 2026 have in store for us all? A big year with change with a general election and reviews by the MOE as well as funding reviews by Government!

We have also changed. Our new head office is 2 doors down from where we once were.
We are now located at 62 Wainui Rd, Gisborne.
Same emails and same phone numbers just a new address.

We look forward to another great year and working through the many changes.

We know you will all be excited about when our Kindergartens open again.

All open on Wednesday 21st January. I know the teaching teams will be so excited to see your childrens smiles and hear all the adventures they have been on over the break.
Enjoy the last few days of having them at home.

See you soon
