ECCT has spent decades building stronger, more resilient communities across Tairāwhiti and beyond demonstrating the truth of:

This Volunteer Week, we're celebrating the amazing mentors who make a difference in the lives of young people across our community.

By showing up, listening, and spending time together, our mentors help their Littles feel valued, supported, and confident. The impact they have is bigger than they often realise.

To all our mentors..... thank you. We couldn't do what we do without you. ❤️

Celebrating two amazing years of Tiff and Poppy!

These two both agree that seeing each other is the highlight of their week. Once a week they get together and do something fun like playing on the adventure playground, baking yummy treats or doing each others hair. If you see them driving past you'll probably hear them singing Huntrix songs on full blast!

Having our message out there in such a visible way helps us grow our programme and reach more people who want to support our rangatahi in meaningful ways.

Every bit of awareness brings us closer to finding more incredible mentors for our rangatahi 💛 helping us make a difference, one match at a time.

A huge thank you to for hooking us up with awesome equipment so our matches could get stuck into some fun games and sports.

There was so much energy, laughter, and friendly competition, the kind of moments that really build connection 🏃‍♂️⚽

We’re also incredibly grateful to have had the venue paid for by Nolans Lawyers, and to Pak’nSave for supplying delicious snacks that kept everyone fuelled and happy 🍎

These events are such a special part of our programme, giving our tamariki and mentors the chance to just have fun, try new things, and spend quality time together.

Ngā mihi nui to everyone who helped make it happen 💛

These two recently celebrated their 1 year match anniversary with a well deserved meal at Lone Star 🌟

Mentoring is just one hour a week, but it can make a lifetime of difference for a young person.

Thank you Matt for your commitment, and Luca for bringing your energy and personality to the match. Here’s to many more adventures together!
