Brother Fendi, Sister Roza and twins would like to express their deepest appreciation to our community and committee members for giving him the opportunity to be a part of this remarkable organization. He wishes everyone all the best and hopes everyone can forgive any of his shortcomings.
Masya'Allah, Subhan'Allah, Shukr Alhamdullilah, it has been a humbling experience for Brother Fendi to support and lead the ummah of Gisborne Tairāwhiti. Especially those families impacted by Cyclone Gabrielle. Brother Fendi and his beloved family leave here with fond memories of the years they spend in Gisborne Tairāwhiti. May Allah SAW make GTMA committes adherents of teachings of the Quran and Sunnah...Ameen. Alhamdullilah, it's Rabi-ul-Awwal...
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was born in Mecca on 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal during 570 CE. Eid-e-Milad an-Nabi, or Mawlid is celebrated by Muslims during the month of Rabi-ul-Awwal, the third month of Islamic Calendar. Also commonly known as Milad-un-Nabi. This day is observed as public holiday in countries with large Muslim population.
We celebrate the wisdom and compassion of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) by doing good deeds, reciting Quranic verses, dhikr, holding prayers and religious assemblies in community centres and mosques, narrating stories from Prophet's life (PBUH). However, not all Muslims commemorate Milad-un-Nabi. The Sunni and Shia have different ways of marking Mawlid. Whatever it is, sending salutations upon the Prophet (PBUH) is an important act of worship. May Allah SWT pardon all of us and guide us through the straight path...Ameen. Jumma Mubarak everyone.

In the Name of Allah SWT, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
Today is a special day to honour fathers in Aetoroa. Some Islamic countries celebrates Father's Day on the 13th of Rejab. Here in New Zealand, Father's Day is celebrated on the first Sunday of September. Regardless of when, Islam teaches us to respect and love our parents every day, not just on a particular day. Showing gratitude to parents and treating them with love and compassion is considered as one of the most important acts of worship in Islam. For all the fathers who support their families with long tedious working hours, staying committed and responsible, a loving understanding supportive father, a wonderful husband, overworked and never complained THANK YOU. You are LOVED, APPRECIATED and RESPECTED more than you know and more than is shown.
We can never fully compensate our fathers. Let's give our father a gift of 2 rakaat Salat Al Walidayn.
