Over the weekend our amazing committee members made a decision to run a quick fundraiser at a local Equestrian Show the Gisborne Pony Club Winter Series 😊
The weather was on the fence but the turn out was still incredible so why not run a sausage sizzle and bake sale🤔, and so they did the support was amazing and the food was appreciated but for this to even happen we have the generosity of the Gisborne Ulysses Motorcycle Group who donated the sausages, onions and condiments for this successful fundraiser 🥰🙌🏽

The kindness from this group now gives us funds for the RDA to continue to help our community grow and achieve in ways that only a hoiho could offer

Already in classes on a Thursday this helps him keep loving his mahi and making him better suited for more riders as we grow in the programme 👍🏽

This Sunday at the Gisborne RDA Indoor Arena the committee will be holding a sausage sizzle fundraiser at the Gisborne Pony Club Winter Series 👌🏽
So come and watch your tamariki, moko or any whanau do the mahi in the ring and have a snack at the same time 😝
Bring some cash, watch some cool hōiho and fill your puku.
I also hear baking will be involved 👀👀

Gisborne RDA would love to send our biggest condolences to the Love whanau after the passing of previous Assistant Manager, volunteer, horse supplier and all round good friend to our community

A strong pillar in the foundations of Gisborne RDA when situated on Olsward st, it is because of people like this man why we are where we are today, offering a service that John Love believed in and dedicated his time to 🥰

Gisborne RDA would love to give another shout out to Gisborne Resene ColourShop owner David Preddy.🙌🏽🙌🏽
When we had GBHS come in to do some mahi for us one of those things were to sharpen up the parking lines around the Gisborne RDA Arena not only for health and safety but to encourage correct parking at big events.😊
While our original thought was to just paint with a brush 👀 our man David not only donated the machine to do this mahi correct he also donated the paint for it 😮
We are Absolutly blessed to have such a giving community that helps us on these journeys
The little, big and the in between all counts towards an amazing kaupapa ❤️❤️

A huge thank you to trust_tairawhiti for supporting our kaupapa by giving us the tools we need to implement the mahi needed to operate and deliver our programmes. An upgrade in a ATV isn't just about having wheels, it's about maintaining paddocks to ensure horses are safe and well cared for, it's about ensuring the best quality care for our horses and also to be efficient in our mahi so everything is done in the minimal time that 1 day gives us 😉👀

Every Wednesday we are blessed with our wider community riders all the way from Wairoa and Nuhaka, a class that has distance as a barrier not just because of time (1 hour 30m 1 way) but fuel costs and road quality are just the few things to consider when making the trip to your weekly spot 😬
These beautiful gems surprise us every session with their ability to achieve, and it's the littlest things like speaking words for the first time, or growing confidence to take the reins 🥰

This weekend at the NZRDA 2026 Conference it was my absolute pleasure to honour a request to read, speak and open/close conference and award night with the specifically written NZRDA karakia 🥰
Nervous yes, anxiety yes, but proud to apply tikanga in our RDA space 😊
A perfect weekend of learning and connecting with awsome future endeavours to come 😉😉
