• Talk privately with a financial mentor about the money worries you have.
• Face-to-face, phone, or online sessions, and home visits are available.
• Typical budgeting sessions are about 60 minutes and can include drafting a budget workshe
et and debt management.
• We will help you make a simple, flexible money plan that includes goals, debt repayment, a budget, and a spending plan.
• Many people find that they benefit from 3-4 weekly/fortnightly sessions although there is no obligation to continue attendance.
• After the crisis, a mentor can continue to support with longer-term planning, and building financial knowledge and resilience. Hardship applications:
• Mentors can assist with creditor negotiations and provide a verified statement of financial position for hardship applications to help solve financial crisis and clear debt.
• Hardship applications can include creditors, KiwiSaver, and insolvency options such as No Asset Procedure (NAP), Debt Repayment Order (DRO), and Bankruptcy. MoneyMates Courses:
• To build financial knowledge, confidence, and resilience in the community.
• Facilitators design bespoke programmes to cover what the group wants to know.
