We started Urdu Aik Tehzeeb with a simple dream: to keep Urdu, our literature, and the beauty of our culture alive and close to home, even from thousands of miles away.

What began as a dream is slowly becoming something we can see and feel. From bringing people together through poetry, literature, music and culture, to now seeing our work reach audiences across Pakistan, it is incredibly special to witness the impact this little dream can have.

دیکھیں کیا گزرے ہے قطرے پہ گہر ہونے تک was recently featured across 9 Pakistani news channels, and seeing our work travel this far is a moment we’re deeply grateful for.

There is something beautiful about building a space for the things that connect us to who we are, and watching that space grow beyond what we ever imagined.

To everyone who has supported Urdu Aik Tehzeeb, attended our events, shared our work, or simply believed in what we are trying to build, thank you. This is only the beginning.

Behind every successful community event are people who quietly give their time, energy and heart to make it happen. For our 4 October event "Dekhien Kia Guzrey Hai Qatrey Pe Goher Honey Tak", we were truly blessed to have an exceptional group of young people serving as our Event Ambassadors.

You were always ready to step in, always courteous and approachable, and carried out your responsibilities with a level of maturity and professionalism that was truly heartwarming. You gave your time and energy without hesitation and represented Urdu Aik Tehzeeb with pride, warmth and grace.

For us, one of the most rewarding parts of community work is seeing our young generation step forward and take ownership. You have shown that our youth are not just the future of our community — they are already making a difference today.

A Special Appreciation for Our Wonderful MCs Dr.Asim Mukhtar Janjua. & Saira Yousaf

Some people participate in an event, while some take ownership of it and Dr. Asim Mukhtar Janjua and Saira Umar truly belonged to the latter.

From the very beginning, they embraced this event as if it were their own. They invested considerable time in preparation, joined multiple Zoom meetings, worked through the programme in detail, participated in rehearsals and the dry run, and remained fully committed right through to the end.

What stood out most was their professionalism, attention to detail, teamwork and genuine enthusiasm. They brought warmth and confidence to the stage while ensuring that the programme flowed smoothly and maintained the spirit of the evening.

Asar sirf stage par nazar nahi aata us ke peechay ki mehnat bhi utni hi qeemti hoti hai.

Dr. Asim and Saira, thank you for your ownership, your hard work and for giving this event far more than just your time. We are truly grateful to have had you both with us.

Assalamu Alaikum everyone

As we come to the close of our “Dekhein Kya Guzray Hai Qatray Pe Gohar Honay Tak…” Book Launch, Mushaira & Mehfil-e-Ghazal, I want to take a moment to say a heartfelt THANK YOU to every single person who became part of this journey.

What made this evening truly special was not just what happened on the stage, but the respect, love, cooperation and spirit of community that everyone brought with them.

Let me begin with two wonderful people who stood with us from the very beginning — our MCs, Dr. Asim Mukhtar Janjua and Saira Umar. They didn’t simply take on the role of MCs; they truly made this event their own. From the initial planning and multiple Zoom meetings to rehearsals and the dry run, they invested their time, energy and enthusiasm wholeheartedly. Their ownership, commitment and warmth added so much to the event. A heartfelt thank you to both of you for being there with us from the word go and for giving this event so much of yourselves.

A very special thank you to Arehman Lab for their collaboration, support and belief in what we are trying to build through Urdu Aik Tehzeeb.

To everyone who attended thank you for giving us your precious time, respecting the venue’s house rules, appreciating our poets and performers, and most importantly, leaving the place clean and dignified. That says a lot about our community.

Despite having his flight cancelled at the last minute, Dr. Faisal made every effort to reach us, arrived in time, stayed throughout the event, and generously appreciated our artists and young volunteers.
