Last Sunday we held the 2nd Annual Taylor Festival Competition at AWRSC - named in loving memory of our dear friend and skate coach Gillian Taylor.
There were lots of people taking to the competition floor for the first time and lots of smiles to be had.
Thanks to Skate-Nation (and Nara) for your awesome work in capturing the day for us.

We made it to Rotorua for Northern Areas, but without the laptop and connections for downloading the images, it seems. So there will some images from this weekend, but they won't be uploaded till Monday-ish.

So far the floor is grippy and rolling fast for most skaters, but with the 47m floor being shortened further, it did cause some challenges for the senior skaters this evening.

It's Day 2 at Northern Areas in Rotorua today and it's a BIG one for AWRSC as most of our competitors hit the floor, including Lindsay Simpson, who is representing the club in a brand new catergory - Whakaaturanga (Showcase). We wish all our team the best as they cross the floor today.

We finished up for Term 1 on Tuesday night and drew our first winners for our Lucky Dip fundraiser - congratulations to Janica and our other winners.

We will be back to Learn to Skate after the school holidays so enjoy the break and we will see you all soon.
