We had our Annual Quiz Night Fundraiser on Saturday. What an amazing night with a great turnout by our supporters.

A massive thanks to all those who helped with the smooth running of the night (you know who you are) and to our Sponsors - both local and further afield. I may have forgotten one or 2 but I've done my best to represent as many of our business sponsors, big and small below - my apologies if I've missed you, we certainly appreciate each and everyone of you.

Thank you, thank you, thank you - your generosity allows us to keep running our programmes for our Keas, Cubs, Scout & Venturers.

Last Night we had our end of Term raft race. We had an outbound tide, so for the first time in quite a few years, we launched from Selwood Road (The Concourse) and paddled back to the The Boatshed at Taipari Strand - about 1.3km according to Google Maps.

Square & Diagonal Lashings everywhere. The water was pretty cold and the Scouts did well. Hot chips to finish!

The Whau Cycleway has had a busy week with two Kea groups and our Cubs doing a bike night. Lots of fun had by all, and a great appreciation for this amazing amenity right on our doorstep!

King’s Scout Kauri Award - Francesca (Frankie) Jones.

We recently celebrated Frankie being awarded her King’s Scout Kauri Award Pin at her last official night as a Venturer.

The King Scout Kauri Award is the highest youth award in the Scouting. This achievement requires the recipient to plan and undertake an adventurous journey, complete a residential project, and contribute significant time to service in their communities as well as taking part in and leading the activities of their unit.

Frankie will be going to Wellington for the official presentation by the Governor General.

The Scouts and Vents all went on the annual tramp in the Kaimais over Kings Birthday. Not much to say apart from everyone had a great time.

We had a great crew of Kea and Cubs at the final NWOC rogaine event at beautiful Muriwai beach. All the kids (and parents!) did really well. Amazingly, William and Max (8 and 9 years old) beat all the adults to win the Open Mens Team category with a 9.3km run that captured 870/1200 points! Definitely some future orienteering stars coming through!
