We're stoked to announce that we have been selected to participate in Z Energys Good in the Hood promotion at Z Te Atatū.

While all the groups involved do great work in the community, we'd love your support. If you're filling up at Z Te Atatū during the promotion, please consider voting for Te Atatū Endeavour Sea Scouts. It simply involves collecting a voting token in store and placing it in our voting box.

King’s Scout Kauri Award - Francesca (Frankie) Jones.

We recently celebrated Frankie being awarded her King’s Scout Kauri Award Pin at her last official night as a Venturer.

The King Scout Kauri Award is the highest youth award in the Scouting. This achievement requires the recipient to plan and undertake an adventurous journey, complete a residential project, and contribute significant time to service in their communities as well as taking part in and leading the activities of their unit.

Frankie will be going to Wellington for the official presentation by the Governor General.

B.R.A.V.O. Frankie! We are proud of you.

We had a great crew of Kea and Cubs at the final NWOC rogaine event at beautiful Muriwai beach. All the kids (and parents!) did really well. Amazingly, William and Max (8 and 9 years old) beat all the adults to win the Open Mens Team category with a 9.3km run that captured 870/1200 points! Definitely some future orienteering stars coming through!

In February one of our Scout Leaders was awarded his Bronze Tiki in recognition of his contribution to our group.

I was privileged to finally be able to present this award this to Gary on our recent Kings Birthday Tramp in the Kaimais - a fitting location given his contribution. Also fitting as we had many Scouts and Venturers with us for who Gary has made this type of expedition possible. And yes I carried the medal all weekend to give to him on Monday when we were all together.

It is leaders like Gary that make this Group work.

On Saturday a couple of our younger Scouts and a couple of (ahem) older leaders took place in an on-water clean up on The Whau organised by New Lynn Sea Scouts and The Whau River Catchment Trust. Scouting friends from Owairaka Sea Scouts & Western Bays Sea Scouts, Lynfield were also there.

We had a great morning out on the water, and managed to find a shopping trolley, which our young Scouts were both happy to find and unhappy it was there in the first place.

Some of our Keas, Cubs and Scouts had a great time out at the NWOC Rogaine at Leighton's Farm. A beautiful day at a beautiful spot practicing our navigation skills. The next event is June 14 at Muriwai, maybe see you all there!
