Coatesville Playcentre

Coatesville Playcentre Coatesville Playcentre is a parent-run licensed ECE. We love messy play and child-led play! Come Join Us! How Does Playcentre Work?

Our village becomes your village at Playcentre: fun and friendship for you and your children with experiences that last a lifetime. Established in 1972, Coatesville Playcentre is well connected within the Coatesville community. Our extensive grounds are in a peaceful, rural setting beside the Coatesville Reserve where we enjoy nature walks and pony visits. With multiple areas of play set up each d

ay, our children are able to discover and make their own choices about play and activities including messy play, sand, water, paint, clay, collage, cooking, blocks, music, books, face painting in a safe and familiar environment. Playcentre is a licensed early childhood education service for children 0-6 years of age. Children at Playcentre will grow in confidence as they transfer their knowledge, skills and dispositions from one learning experience to another through endless activities and interactions. Each child has the chance to find their voice and their strengths at Playcentre. Our parents and whānau are actively involved in providing our children’s learning programmes. The high adult to child ratio allows a good balance for group and individual support during each session. Unlike many other centres, we currently accept attendance of only one day per week. • Friday messy play 9:45am - 12:00pm, casual session. For more information, visit https://www.facebook.com/groups/528115459024376/

📣 An important update regarding our Messy Play Friday sessions at Coatesville Playcentre.

After a lot of consideration our centre has decided to change 'Messy Play Friday' to 'Pop In & Play Friday' sessions.

It’ll run very much like our regular parent-led Playcentre sessions where there'll be a range of activities for children to engage with including our playground, swings, bikes/trikes, sand pit, paint and crafts, family play, music, block/cars/trains, as well as some messy play options.

These sessions will be open to the public for tamariki aged 0-6 years old, during terms 1 and 4 only. We ask for a $10 cash donation per family, per session - reduced from the previous $20 donation.

If you want to find out more about our Playcentre and are considering enrolling, we offer 3 free visits on any of our regular sessions, which run Monday - Wednesday 9.15am -12.45pm. Please book them here: https://www.playcentre.org.nz/centre/coatesville/

Finally, we’d like to share a huge thank you to any families who have attended our Messy Play Friday sessions in the past! They are lots of fun and a wonderful way to connect to more families in the community. Much of this fundraising has contributed to our fantastic new bike track which is an incredible asset for our centre and the community.

Thank you also, for your patience and understanding.

We can’t wait to be back offering Pop In & Play sessions on Fridays in term 4.

In the meantime, please feel free to book a free visit for our regular sessions here: https://www.playcentre.org.nz/centre/coatesville/

During Term 2 at Costesville Playcentre, we've been exploring the theme of schemas, focusing on one every week. The kids had such wonderful fun running through newspaper and smashing it for our deconstruction schema! Lots of wonderful turn taking, physical play, encouragement and creativity.
