Want to play a tournament where you're guaranteed plenty of table time?

The 2026 Auckland Max-Play Tournament is back on Sunday 26 July at the Auckland Table Tennis Stadium!

This is one of Auckland's most popular tournaments because every player will play at least as many matches as the finalists. No early exit. No long waits. Just a full day of competition, improvement, and fun.

Players with 400 rating points or fewer on the ATTA Rating System as at Monday 20 July 2026.

Auckland Table Tennis Association was proud to support the very first Table Tennis Championship hosted by Te Pฤtaka Kลrero o Manurewa (Manurewa Library).

It was wonderful to see the community come together for a full day of competitive table tennis, from the opening league rounds right through to the semifinals, the final, and the awards presentation!

Congratulations to every player who took part, and to our worthy champions and well done to our champion, who played brilliantly all day and won a brand new table tennis bat as the top prize.

A heartfelt thank you to Deepesh Sinha and the team at Manurewa Library, and to Auckland Libraries, for partnering with us to bring this event to life.

We look forward to delivering many more programmes together in the years ahead.

Celebrate Matariki with the community at Kia Mataoho.

This Saturday, join a community event led by mana whenua, filled with stories, reflection, activities and a Star Hunt as we welcome the Mฤori New Year.

When: Saturday 20 June 2026, 1 pm to 4 pm
Where: Ballantyne Square

A time to gather, connect, learn and reflect. Everyone is welcome, so bring your tamariki, whฤnau and friends along.

We are pleased to help share this special kaupapa with our table tennis community.

๐Ÿ“๐ŸŽ‰ 2026 Central Zone Intermediate School Tournament ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ“

The Auckland Table Tennis Association was proud to host and deliver the 2026 Central Zone Intermediate School Tournament at the Auckland Table Tennis Stadium on Thursday 18 June.

A fantastic 148 students (89 boys and 59 girls) from 14 schools competed in this year's event, representing a slight increase on the 142 entries from 12 schools in 2025. It was great to see continued growth in participation and enthusiasm for table tennis across Auckland schools.

Competition was contested in the Boys' Singles and Girls' Singles events, with players producing some outstanding performances throughout the day.

The final session is here! ๐Ÿ“

This Friday 19th June, marks the last round of the 2026 Auckland Winter Interschools Table Tennis Competition for Term 2.

What a season it has been. Over eight weeks of play across our two venues, Saint Kentigern College and our Gillies Avenue Centre, students from schools right across Auckland have shown skill, sportsmanship and team spirit.

A heartfelt thank you to all our players, parents, coaches, teachers and volunteers who have made this term possible. Your energy and dedication are what make interschools table tennis so special.

Let's finish on a high. Best of luck to every team taking to the tables one last time this Friday!

๐Ÿ“ I Made A Mistake.

For years, I thought table tennis was just another sport.

Something people played for fun.

Something you did to stay active.

I couldn't have been more wrong.

Because table tennis doesn't just test your body.

It exposes your mind.

Every weakness.
Every doubt.
Every excuse.

You can be physically fit and still lose because you panic under pressure.

You can be more talented and still lose because you stop believing in yourself.

You can be leading comfortably and still lose because your focus disappears for a few moments.

The table doesn't care.

The scoreboard doesn't care.

Table tennis players know exactly what I'm talking about.

The truth shows up every time.

That's what makes table tennis different.

It's one of the few sports where every point demands:

โšก Lightning-fast reactions
๐Ÿ’ช Emotional control
๐ŸŽฏ Focus under pressure

And the lessons don't stay in the stadium.

You learn how to stay calm when things aren't going your way.

You learn how to recover from mistakes.

You learn how to keep fighting when you'd rather give up.

That's why so many people who play table tennis for years don't just become better players.

They become stronger people.

So yes, I made a mistake.

I thought table tennis was just another sport.

Now I realise it's one of the best teachers life has to offer.

Creating Community connections through Table Tennis ๐Ÿ“

One of the great outcomes of the Tables in Communities programme is seeing local communities come together through table tennis.

Recently, we delivered a table tennis activation at Mt Roskill Library, where community members of all ages had the opportunity to get active, learn new skills, and connect with others in a fun and welcoming environment.

It was encouraging to see the tables being actively used throughout the session, with participants enjoying both the physical and social benefits that table tennis provides.

We are grateful for the positive feedback and support from Mt Roskill Library and the local community.

Programmes like these help create opportunities for people to stay active, build connections, and enjoy sport in an inclusive setting.

A special thank you to Danqing and the team at Mt Roskill Library for their support and for helping make this event a success.

Thank you also to Sport Auckland and the Tu Manawa Fund for supporting initiatives that help communities across Auckland become more active through sport.
