School Aid NZ: Global Partnership Through Schools

School Aid NZ: Global Partnership Through Schools A unique organisation where students make real investments with real money and donate the dividends to schools in Africa; making true social change. Hon.

School Aid was founded in 2009 by former New Zealand Prime Minister and WTO General, The Rt. Mike Moore, as a way for students to learn about investments and financial planning. The Trust’s seed fund was a combination of money raised at a charity event with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and an initial contribution from Mike Moore. The board is comprised of 16 gifted Dilworth School commerce students who a

lso have a passion for community service and 5 staff members who act as adult trustees and mentors. The Adult Trustees play an advisory role — students do their own research and investigations into articles & journals on investment opportunities and potential beneficiaries. The charity has since broadened their aim to not only help schools and education institutions in Africa, but also to schools in other parts of the world who have been affected by natural disasters and need immediate assistance.
