Assalaamu Alaikum. The Hilal Committee of FIANZ is pleased to announce that the new moon for Dhul Hijjah has been sighted today. As a result, tomorrow, Tuesday, 19 May 2026, will mark the first day of Dhul Hijah 1447H.

Eid-ul Adha will, Insha Allah, be observed on Thursday, 28 May 2026 (corresponding to the 10th of Dhul Hijjah 1447H).

The Hilal Committee extends its warmest greetings and heartfelt wishes to all Muslims across New Zealand on the joyous occasion of Eid al-Adha. May Allah (SWT) accept your Udhiyah (Qurbani), your worship, and all your righteous deeds during these blessed and sacred days.

May He fill your homes with peace, happiness, barakah, and unity. Eid Mubarak to you, your families, and your loved ones. Taqabbalallahu minna wa minkum.
