Great to see what Anthony Robin Schneider is up to these days. From our Secret Agent in The Consul, to The Count in Prima Donna (Benjamin) soloist in recitals, galas and various ensemble gigs...nowadays it's a far cry from little old Opera Factory. Congratulations Anthony! We look forward to seeing him in The Pearl Fishers with NZ Opera later this year!

Very happy to announce my upcoming season! Two house debuts, two new roles, four familiar roles including two revivals of productions I’ve done before.

I’m so excited to return to New Zealand, where I started my studies in singing as a half kiwi, and the New Zealand Opera where I sang my first professional solo as the apparition in Macbeth!

The Salzburger Festspiele has a special place in my heart as a half Austrian, and I’m so grateful to be returning after my debut there last summer.

Speaking of Austrians, it’s always a joy to sing with Franz Welser_Möst and The Cleveland Orchestra !

I’m also thrilled to be reprising the role of König Heinrich in Lohengrin in Damiano Michieletto‘s production at Les Arts, València that I sang in Venice recently.

Oper Frankfurt is my operatic home, and I can’t wait to be home for several months to sing some Wagner.

And to top it all off, a house debut at Royal Ballet and Opera to reprise the role of Hercules in Handel‘s oratorio!

It’s going to be a thrilling season!

A super evening at Café Du Marché last night with three singers Antonia Brightwell, Nathan Hauraki and newcomer to performing at the cafe Hannah Morgan. We enjoyed singing to a full Cafe. From Tornami a vagheggiar, Non so piu, to Du Bist Die Ruh, Comme autre fois, to Shenandoah, Somewhere, Mr Snow and The Merry Widow Waltz we presented a beautiful variety of music to the dinner guests with Rosemary Barnes on the keyboard. Next event at the Cafe is scheduled for Friday 17 July....enquiries via FreshChoice Epsom.

With the recent death of Dame Felicity Lott, we remember when we had the opportunity to host her recital with Stephen de Pledge and the delight of our young singers afterwards - and audience! We are so grateful to the wider music networks in Auckland for trusting us to presenting these special events with visiting international artists at our home in Eden Street. How lucky we were!

One of our regular singers Christina Orjis is back in NZ and will be doing a fundraiser on 7th June before heading back to the UK for her professional debut. It's wonderful to see so many singers getting work overseas, but we love to see the old crew at Opera Factory making their way. Christina featured as a soloist in many of our Diva in My Soup concerts, recitals, workshops, masterclasses, Gala concerts, was a member of the Dame Kiri ensembles and also performed roles in our chamber operas including Suor Angelica, the Mother in Hansel & Gretel and La Ciesca in Gianni Schicci. We her all the best but if you are free then you can book below via Auckland Opera Studio.

A full crowd tonight at Cafe du Marche featuring Holly Evans, Jack Doyle and Maia Amosa with Rosemary Barnes at the piano. An exciting night as we get to hear two of the Kiri Te Kanawa Song Quest semi-finalists..Holly and Jack... and wish them both all the very best. As a little gesture from Sally and the Opera Factory library we gifted them some song albums to add to their collection!
