SEPTEMBER WRAPPED.... "This is a unique space in Tāmaki - I can't think of anywhere else that offers adults the chance to practice and devise physical theatre together in a rigourous way."

Such great feedback from one of our Essentials workshop participants!

As always a massive thanks to the donors and funders that have helped make the last month of FREE and affordable theatre workshops possible, including Fledgling Trust, Waitematā Local Board and the Community Organisation Grants Scheme (COGS)

Thanks for the shout out in The Big Idea Talia Pua!

"...Devising is such a juicy process, in which anything is possible. I love brainstorming and exploring ideas with my body and as an ensemble. It’s crazy how much you can generate in a short period of time. That’s why I love learning with Massive Theatre Company. I feel like they have got such a great process for facilitating the devising process and empowering their actors to make work from scratch and tell their own stories. Also, who doesn’t love a game of four-square at the start of every session?"

Talia's acclaimed show Pork & Poll Taxes is back on stage this week with PAT - Proudly Asian Theatre, Hand Pulled Collective and Auckland Live. The show sold out a week before opening back in 2021 so get booking if you don't want to miss out! 🔗s in the comments.

Back in July Massive's founder and Artistic Director Samantha Scott sat down for a kōrero with Perlina Lau on RNZ Culture 101. They spoke about the challenges Massive is facing with funding cuts, the birth of Massive Theatre Company and much much more. Grab a cuppa 🍵 and have a listen!

Film footage featured is from HOME MADE at Te Pou Theatre.
