A little kindness goes a long way 💗

Our Palmerston North Sweet Louise members recently gathered at The Verdict Café, where they were greeted with the loveliest surprise, thoughtful little gifts from café owner Carole. 🎁🌸

It was such a kind gesture and brought smiles to everyone’s faces. The gathering was a chance to light a candle, share stories, connect with one another, and remember those who have recently left us. 🕯️💕

It’s these small acts of kindness and thoughtfulness that can mean so much.

A huge thank you, Carole, for looking after our members and making them feel so welcome. We’re also delighted that The Verdict Café will soon be joining our valued Sweet Louise service providers, giving our community the opportunity to use their vouchers and enjoy some time out at the café, whenever they need it. ☕️💗

It’s Cancer Rehab Awareness Week 2026 💛
SUPPORT MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE.

Exercise can make an undeniable difference to recovery after cancer treatment.

Cancer rehabilitation provides the support, guidance and progression people need to reach the levels of exercise shown to improve recovery and long-term health.

Why does support matter?

Knowing that movement can help is not the same as knowing what to do, how much is enough, or how to safely build up after cancer treatment.

Support helps people move from general advice to a personalised plan — building confidence, consistency and the right level of activity for their body.

Exercise can be powerful medicine, but people need the right support to access its benefits.

Only around 1 in 10 people with cancer are reaching the levels of exercise shown to support recovery and long-term health.

Cancer rehabilitation helps people move safely, rebuild strength, manage treatment side effects and work towards the right dose of movement for their body.

Because advice is not enough. Support makes all the difference.

🌿 Creating moments together at Auckland Zoo 🦒💚

We’re so grateful to Auckland Zoo for welcoming Sweet Louise members and their whānau through their Wellbeing in Nature Community Programme.

The programme gives our members free access to the zoo, creating an opportunity to step away from everyday pressures, spend quality time together, connect with nature and, most importantly, make special memories with the people they love.

And the response has been wonderful. 💚

In just over a month, 30 Sweet Louise members have enjoyed zoo visits with their loved ones, with many more visits already booked for the months ahead.

One member shared:

💬 “You gave us a wonderful gift yesterday. Best gift you could’ve given our family. Thank you, thank you, thank you.”

Another told us:

💬 “We had such a great whānau day with lots of laughs, food and interesting things to see and chat about. A huge thank you for the wonderful memories you have given us as a whānau.”

💗 Pilates for Sweet Louise this Saturday! 💗

We’re so grateful to the wonderful team at KX Pilates Newmarket for hosting a special fundraising morning in support of Sweet Louise this Saturday, 15 August.

Already, they have raised an incredible $275 - thank you so much for helping make a difference for New Zealanders living with advanced breast cancer. 💛

There will be three fundraising classes on Saturday:

🧘‍♀️ 8:00am
🧘‍♀️ 9:00am
🧘‍♀️ 10:00am

Every dollar from the fundraising classes will be donated to Sweet Louise, with plenty of goodies and freebies to enjoy along the way!

Can’t make it along? You can still support the fundraiser by making a donation — every contribution, big or small, helps us provide practical, emotional and social support to people living with advanced breast cancer.

💛 A huge thank you to the incredible Topsy Boult and our amazing Women's V8 Car Cruise community.

Through her own community raffle in Bulls, generously supported by local businesses, Topsy has raised an incredible $2,000 for Sweet Louise.

We're so grateful to Topsy for taking the initiative, to the wonderful Bulls businesses who donated prizes, and to everyone who bought a ticket.

The Women's V8 Car Cruise has been a long-standing supporter of Sweet Louise, and we're incredibly thankful to all of the V8 ladies who continue to turn their passion into purpose.
