Welcome to Cosmo Rescue dog 1511. Age 2.5 years. Unfortunately due to a marriage break up he had no where to call home. After meeting Sharon & Ivan, former owners of Caesar #1170, it was love at first sight. He is set to be neutered next week and we wish them all the very best with this new journey.

Sharing, Home needed for this dog Otago area. Do not know anything other than what is stated in the advert. All communications to the contact details in the ad.

The owner is looking to rehome their beloved purebred German Shepherd, Zoey, due to a family breakup. Unfortunately, due to the owner's busy schedule, they are unable to give Zoey the attention and care she deserves. Zoey is a wonderful dog but does not get along well with cats and may be unsettled around other dogs unless introduced properly. She believes she's a lap dog and is very affectionate.

Zoey is fully vaccinated, flea-treated, wormed, chipped, and spayed. She comes with her full veterinary records. The owner is looking for a home where Zoey will receive the attention and care she needs.

Zoey Is about 2.5 Years 3 in August

Zoey is located in North Otago. Only serious inquiries from those who can provide a loving, suitable home will be considered.

Wishing all our adopters, fosterers and supporters a very Happy New Year. We have now had 1506 happy GSDs in new homes since we started this.

23/12/2024

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all our adopters and supporters. You all make these challenges so worthwhile, coming to the aid of those dogs who owners have given up on them, departed from them, leaving them lost and alone, with either physical support or financial support. Without your help we would struggle, with your help we succeed.

Many think we are a general rescue, we are not. We are there for the ones who have no-one to help them - no owners.

When you make the decision to get a GSD, it is a life decision, not an 'until' decision. Yes they can make you change your life, but that should have been considered before purchase not after. The first 18 months the most challenging, the fur shedding can be horrendous, but surely you knew all that before hand - So a big thank you to the adopters for changing their lives and accepting the fur shedding by giving these abandoned and lost ones a chance of a 'second leash on life'.

So keep safe over these holidays, spoil your dog with love and kindness, don't let them get into the christmas tarts and we will continue on with our mission in 2025.

Denise, Kim, Suzanne & Bede
Trustees.

Happy Birthday to Kobe 1408. Happy 7th Birthday beautiful Kobe. You arrived in a terrible state having been severely neglected, & with both emotional & physical damage. Your physical damage healed well, your emotional damage took longer. 3 years later, you're doing amazingly well, & so protective of the people you love. It amazes me how these Beautiful Souls can learn to love & trust again ... ♥️🥰♥️ Our grateful thanks to Rebekah and Martin for their devoted care to this beautiful boy.

I would like to officially welcome Theo #1495 who has been with Janet for just over a month and is now officially adopted by her. He is such a lovely boy, nearly 5 years old. He has been a much loved dog of his previous family who have moved overseas. The first home they selected for him did not work out so they contacted us. It was a few weeks after Janet had lost fosterdog Rufus and her home felt very empty. She came with me to do the assessment and was instantly captivated.. love at first sight. Over the following week she organised things and he came to live with her the following week. He has a couple of health issues which are treatable and manageable. He was insured by his previous owner and the insurance company were happy to transfer the policy into Janet's name and continue everything as before, all his existing conditions are covered. So welcome Theo to the GSD family.

RIP Liese #1102. Adopted on 28.9.2014 at the age of 10 months. We were informed about her after her owner refused to pay the registration fee and left her at the Rotorua Animal Shelter. She was scheduled for euthanasia on the 26.9.2014. We uplfited her and put her in fostercare for couple of days while awaiting transporting. I personally took her up to Ralf and Ulrike and saw her settle in. She has been a very much loved girl for the past 10 years and they are missing her terribly. Our thoughts, prayers and grateful thanks go to Ralf and Ulrike for giving Liese such a wonderful home.

RIP Terrina # 1482. Sadly, Terrina, passed away on Sunday. She was approximately 11-12 years of age and had lived the last 5 months with Lisa after us taking her into care in June this year, from the Whakatane SPCA due to her horrible living conditions. She was having breathing difficulties and on checking for an obstruction in her throat she was diagnosed with laryngeal paralysis. I am so sorry you had such a short time with her Lisa.
