My last drive and sad farewell to a faithful, reliable, economic work car after 114,000kms on the clock! It is now in the safe hands of Dianna Cotter, the new Head of Peace Education. Huge gratitude to the Peace Foundation for providing me with a work car over the last 20 years. I have certainly visited a lot of schools during that time!!!πŸ‘πŸ˜„

Well done Tauhara Primary School Peer Mediators in training for your great mahi during their Cool Schools Revisit on Wednesday 18 March 2026. Tamariki also enjoyed hearing stories from Yvonne Duncan, founder of the Cool Schools Peer Mediation Programme, about how she first used peer mediation processes when she was a teacher many years ago. They thought it was also pretty cool that they were the first primary school in New Zealand to have the Peace Foundation's three Heads of Peace Education (HoPE) over the decades visit them! ❀️

Apart from these awesome student Peace Ambassadors, we had attendance from 3 generations of Head of Peace Education (HoPE)...Yvonne Duncan, the school programmes founder for the Peace Foundation, Christina Barruel, her successor for 20 years and Dianna Cotter, the newly appointed HoPE.
