Mercy Hospice Mercy Hospice provides free specialist community palliative care & hospice services. Stay up to date. Our services are provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Mercy Hospice Auckland provides a range of specialist community palliative care and hospice services for people facing life limiting illnesses, caring for them with the utmost professional skill, compassion and quality of service. We also offer support to family, friends and carers to help them cope with problems arising from the illness. All our services are offered free to patients and their families, regardless of age, ethnicity, means or religion, thanks to the generosity of our community. We support people living in the Auckland District Health Board area. This covers Auckland City and the central suburbs from Glendowie in the east to Avondale in the west, Herne Bay in the north to Mount Wellington in the south. Specialist inpatient care is also provided to people from Waiheke and the islands of the Hauraki Gulf. Our range of services include: Specialist care in the community, 13 inpatient beds, a Day-stay programme, counselling, family/ spiritual/ cultural support, education and training.

When Hannah Martin's father, Steve, was cared for in Mercy Hospice's Inpatient Unit, she was deeply touched by the compassionate, "enveloping" care they both received.
"The ability to be by his side those three weeks was a kindness I couldn’t believe was possible."

Last week, we welcomed a small group to the first 'Life, Death and the Music Between' event, in conjunction with Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra and Davis Funerals. 🎶🎵🎼

Held as part of Wills Month (September), it was a beautiful evening of music, storytelling and conversation, held at the stunning Eden Garden where the tulips were in full bloom.

Guests enjoyed an incredible live performance by an Auckland Philharmonia string quartet, performing works by Felix Mendelssohn and Johann Sebastian Bach, before a panel discussion led by APO's director of artistic planning Gale Mahood. Gale shared the stories of these celebrated composers and how the decisions made after their deaths shaped the legacies they left behind.

A big thank you to all those involved in creating such a special evening, and to APO and Davis Funerals for their support. 💙
