Animal Nepal को महत्वपूर्ण सूचना

लगातारको भारी वर्षा र प्रतिकूल मौसमका कारण हाम्रो उद्धार तथा फिल्डमा खटिने क्षमतामा केही असर पर्न सक्छ। हाम्रो टोलीले सकेसम्म आकस्मिक अवस्थामा परेका पशुहरूको उद्धार तथा उपचारका लागि काम गरिरहनेछ, तर प्रभावित स्थानसम्म पुग्न केही ढिलाइ हुन सक्छ।

हाम्रो चोभार डग ट्रीटमेन्ट सेन्टर भने खुला रहनेछ र त्यहाँ रहेका पशुहरूको नियमित हेरचाह तथा सम्भव भएसम्म आकस्मिक उपचार जारी रहनेछ।

पशुको सुरक्षालाई ध्यानमा राख्दै यस अवधिमा तय गरिएका नियमित शल्यक्रियाहरू पनि केही समयका लागि स्थगित गरिनेछन्। मौसम र आवतजावतको अवस्था सुरक्षित भएपछि शल्यक्रिया पुनः सुरु गरिनेछ।

यसबीच, हामी सबैलाई आफ्नो वरपर रहेका समुदायका पशुहरूको विशेष ख्याल गर्न अनुरोध गर्दछौँ। सम्भव भए उनीहरूलाई पानीबाट सुरक्षित र सुख्खा ठाउँमा बस्ने व्यवस्था गर्नुहोस् र सफा पानी तथा खाना उपलब्ध गराउनुहोस्।

आफू पनि सुरक्षित रहनुहोस्, एकअर्काको ख्याल गर्नुहोस् र हाम्रो समुदायमा हामीमाथि निर्भर पशुहरूको पनि ख्याल राख्नुहोस्।

Due to the heavy rainfall and challenging weather conditions, our field response and rescue capabilities may be affected. Our team will continue responding to urgent cases as safely as possible, but there may be delays in reaching animals who need help.

Our Chobhar Dog Treatment Centre remains open and continues to provide care to animals already at the centre and receive urgent cases where possible.

For the safety of the animals, scheduled surgeries will also be postponed during this period. We will resume routine surgeries as soon as weather and access conditions are safe.

In the meantime, we ask everyone to please look out for community animals in your neighbourhood. If possible, provide them with a safe, dry place to shelter, along with clean drinking water and food.

Please stay safe, take care of one another, and keep an eye out for the animals who depend on our communities for care 🤍

Animal Nepal ले मुग्लिन–फिस्लिङ क्षेत्रमा ६२ वटा कुकुरलाई रेबिजविरुद्धको खोप लगाएको छ। यी क्षेत्रहरू बाढीको मुख्य प्रभाव परेको ठाउँ नभए पनि बाढी प्रभावित क्षेत्रबाट तलतिर पर्ने भएकाले बाढीको पानीसँगै ठूलो मात्रामा फोहोर, पशुका शव तथा मानव अवशेषसमेत तलतिरका क्षेत्रमा पुगेका थिए। यसले पशु स्वास्थ्य र रोग फैलिने जोखिमबारे थप चिन्ता सिर्जना गरेको छ।

बाढीपछि विस्थापित पशुहरूसँग सम्पर्क, पशुका शव तथा दूषित वातावरणसँगको सम्पर्क बढ्न सक्ने र पशु स्वास्थ्य सेवामा समेत अवरोध आएको अवस्थामा कुकुरलाई रेबिजविरुद्ध खोप लगाउनु महत्वपूर्ण रोकथामको उपाय हो। यसले कुकुरलाई रेबिजबाट जोगाउनुका साथै मानिसमा रेबिज सर्न सक्ने जोखिम कम गर्न मद्दत गर्छ।

यो अभियान Animal Nepal को बाढीपछिको One Health दृष्टिकोणअन्तर्गतको महत्वपूर्ण काम हो—पशुको स्वास्थ्य जोगाउनु भनेको समुदायको स्वास्थ्य र सुरक्षालाई पनि सहयोग गर्नु हो।

यो अभियानमा आफ्नो समय र श्रम दिएर स्वयंसेवकका रूपमा सहभागी हुनुहुने IVSA Rampur का पशु चिकित्सा विद्यार्थीहरूलाई धेरै धेरै धन्यवाद।

यस महत्वपूर्ण कामलाई सम्भव बनाउन सहयोग गर्नुहुने World Animal Protection लाई हार्दिक धन्यवाद।

Animal Nepal has vaccinated 62 dogs against rabies along the Mugling–Fisling corridor. Although these areas were not among the worst-hit locations, they lie downstream of the flood-affected areas, where floodwaters carried large amounts of debris, animal carcasses and human remains into downstream communities. This created additional concerns around animal health and disease transmission.

For dogs in these communities, increased exposure to displaced animals, carcasses and contaminated environments, combined with disrupted veterinary and public health services, makes rabies vaccination an important preventive measure. Vaccinating dogs helps protect them from rabies while reducing the risk of transmission to people during the post-flood recovery period.

This campaign is part of Animal Nepal’s wider One Health flood response, recognising that protecting animal health is an important part of protecting communities as they recover.

बाढी प्रभावित परिवारका लागि पशु प्राथमिक उपचार किट

नुवाकोटको बेलकोटगढी नगरपालिका–५ मा Animal Nepal ले बाढीबाट प्रभावित पशुहरूको हेरचाह गरिरहेका ५८ परिवारलाई पशु प्राथमिक उपचार किट वितरण गरेको छ।

बाढीले घर, खेतबारी तथा स्थानीय पूर्वाधारमा ठूलो क्षति पुर्‍याउनुका साथै पशु उपचार तथा स्वास्थ्य सेवामा समेत बाधा पुर्‍याएको छ। सडक तथा अन्य पूर्वाधारमा क्षति पुगेका कारण पशु उपचार सेवा र आवश्यक औषधि तथा सामग्रीसम्म पहुँच पाउन परिवारहरूलाई कठिन भएको छ।

यस्तो अवस्थामा यी प्राथमिक उपचार किटले परिवारहरूलाई पशुलाई हुने सामान्य चोटपटक, घाउ तथा अन्य तत्कालका स्वास्थ्य समस्यामा प्रारम्भिक उपचार गर्न सहयोग गर्छ। समयमै प्राथमिक उपचार पाउँदा सामान्य समस्या गम्भीर बन्नबाट रोक्न पनि मद्दत पुग्छ।

यो सहयोग Animal Nepal को निरन्तर बाढी राहत अभियानको हिस्सा हो। यसअन्तर्गत हामी पशु उपचार, रोग रोकथाम, पशु आहारा र आवश्यक स्वास्थ्य सामग्री मार्फत बाढीबाट गम्भीर रूपमा प्रभावित क्षेत्रका पशु र उनीहरूको हेरचाह गर्ने परिवारसम्म सहयोग पुर्‍याइरहेका छौँ।

In Belkotgadhi Municipality–5, Nuwakot, Animal Nepal has distributed veterinary first aid kits to 58 families caring for animals affected by the recent floods.

The floods caused significant damage to homes, farms and local infrastructure, while also disrupting access to veterinary services. With roads damaged and veterinary facilities and supplies difficult to access, families have faced greater challenges in responding to minor injuries, wounds and other immediate health needs of their animals.

The first aid kits provide families with basic supplies to respond to urgent animal health needs while access to veterinary support remains disrupted, helping prevent minor injuries and conditions from becoming more serious.

This intervention is part of Animal Nepal’s ongoing flood response, which combines veterinary care, disease prevention, animal feed and practical support for communities caring for animals in severely affected areas.

नुवाकोटको बेलकोटगढी नगरपालिका–५ मा Animal Nepal ले हालैको बाढीबाट प्रभावित पशुहरूको हेरचाह गरिरहेका ५८ परिवारलाई ३,३०० किलो पशु आहारा र ९० किलो मिनरल मिक्स वितरण गरेको छ।

बाढीले खेतबारी, चरन क्षेत्र र पशु राख्ने ठाउँमा क्षति पुर्‍याउँदा धेरै पशुका लागि पर्याप्त आहारा पाउन कठिन भएको छ। विपद्पछि पर्याप्त खाना नपाउँदा पशुहरू कमजोर र कुपोषित हुन सक्छन्, जसका कारण उनीहरू विभिन्न रोग तथा स्वास्थ्य समस्याको जोखिममा पर्न सक्छन्।

आवश्यक पशु आहारा र मिनरल मिक्स उपलब्ध गराउँदा पशुहरूलाई आवश्यक पोषण प्राप्त गर्न, उनीहरूको शक्ति र स्वास्थ्य कायम राख्न तथा यस कठिन समयमा उनीहरूको राम्रो हेरचाह गर्न मद्दत पुग्छ।

यो सहयोग Animal Nepal को निरन्तर बाढी राहत अभियानको हिस्सा हो। यसअन्तर्गत हामी पशु उपचार, रोग रोकथाम र अन्य आवश्यक पशु स्वास्थ्य सेवामार्फत बाढीबाट गम्भीर रूपमा प्रभावित क्षेत्रका पशु र उनीहरूको हेरचाह गर्ने समुदायसम्म पुगिरहेका छौँ।

In Belkotgadhi Municipality–5, Nuwakot, Animal Nepal has distributed 3,300 kg of animal feed and 90 kg of mineral mix to 58 families caring for animals affected by the recent floods.

The floods damaged farmland, grazing areas and animal shelters, leaving many animals with limited access to adequate food. In the aftermath of a disaster, animals can quickly become weak and malnourished, increasing their vulnerability to illness and other health problems.

Providing essential feed and mineral supplements helps ensure that animals receive the nutrition they need to maintain their strength, health and wellbeing during this critical recovery period.

This support is part of Animal Nepal’s ongoing flood response, alongside veterinary support & disease prevention, helping us reach animals and the communities caring for them in severely affected areas.

हालैको बाढीबाट गम्भीर रूपमा प्रभावित बेलकोटगढी नगरपालिका–५ मा Animal Nepal ले ५२ वटा कुकुरलाई रेबिजविरुद्धको खोप लगाएको छ।

बाढीका कारण धेरै घरमा क्षति पुगेको छ, पशुहरू विस्थापित भएका छन् र प्रभावित समुदायमा पशु उपचार तथा स्वास्थ्य सेवामा पहुँचसमेत प्रभावित भएको छ। यस्तो अवस्थामा विस्थापित र तनावमा रहेका पशुहरूको आवतजावत बढ्न सक्छ र संक्रमित वातावरण तथा मरेका पशुहरूसँग सम्पर्क हुने सम्भावना पनि रहन्छ। यसले रेबिजलगायत रोग फैलिने जोखिम बढाउन सक्छ।

त्यसैले बाढीपछिको अवस्थामा रेबिजविरुद्धको खोप पशु र मानिस दुवैको सुरक्षाका लागि महत्वपूर्ण छ।

यो काम Animal Nepal को बाढी राहत तथा पुनःस्थापना अभियानको हिस्सा हो, जसअन्तर्गत हामी बाढी प्रभावित पशु, पशुपालक तथा समुदायलाई उपचार, रोग रोकथाम, पशु आहारा र आवश्यक सहयोग उपलब्ध गराउँदै आएका छौँ।

Animal Nepal has vaccinated 52 dogs against rabies in Belkotgadhi Municipality, Ward 5, one of the areas severely impacted by the recent floods.

In the aftermath of the disaster, homes were destroyed, animals were displaced, and communities were left with disrupted access to veterinary services. Displaced and stressed animals, increased movement of dogs between affected areas, and contact with contaminated environments and animal remains can increase the risk of disease transmission. Rabies vaccination is therefore an essential part of protecting both animals and the communities living alongside them during the recovery period.

This intervention is part of Animal Nepal’s ongoing flood response, providing veterinary care, disease prevention, animal feed and practical support to flood-affected animals, animal owners and communities in some of the hardest-hit areas.

फेरि एउटा जंगली भाले हात्तीको मृत्यु भएको छ।

हामी रोनाल्डोको मृत्युमा दुःखी छौँ। अर्को एउटा सुन्दर र शक्तिशाली जंगली हात्तीले समय नपुग्दै ज्यान गुमाएको छ।

रोनाल्डोको मृत्यु कसरी भयो भन्ने विषयमा अनुसन्धान भइरहेको छ। करेन्ट लागेर मृत्यु भएको हुन सक्ने भनिएको छ। अनुसन्धानले वास्तविक कारण पत्ता लगाओस्। तर यदि करेन्ट लागेर मृत्यु भएको पुष्टि हुन्छ भने, यो केवल “अस्वाभाविक मृत्यु” भनेर मात्र हेर्न मिल्दैन। यो मानिसले सिर्जना गरेको जोखिमका कारण भएको मृत्यु हो।

खुला विद्युत् तार, अव्यवस्थित पूर्वाधार, सडक, बासस्थानको विनाश, विषादी वा मानिस–हात्ती द्वन्द्व — यी सबै कारणले जंगली हात्तीहरू मानिसले परिवर्तन गरेको वातावरणमा बाँच्न बाध्य छन्। र यसको मूल्य उनीहरूले आफ्नो ज्यान दिएर चुकाइरहेका छन्।

रोनाल्डोको मृत्यु पनि अर्को एउटा तथ्यांक बनेर हराउनु हुँदैन।

नेपालमा जंगली भाले हात्तीहरू किन यति धेरै अस्वाभाविक रूपमा मरिरहेका छन् भन्ने विषयमा गम्भीर रूपमा अध्ययन गर्नुपर्छ। उनीहरूको मृत्युका कारण पहिचान गरेर यस्ता घटना दोहोरिन नदिन ठोस कदम चाल्नुपर्छ।

हामीले सिर्जना गरेका जोखिमका कारण जंगली हात्तीहरूले आफ्नो ज्यान गुमाउनु हुँदैन।

Another wild bull elephant is dead.

We mourn the loss of Ronaldo, another magnificent wild elephant whose life has ended far too soon.

An investigation is underway into his death, with electrocution among the reported possibilities. We must allow the investigation to establish the facts. But if electrocution is confirmed, it is important to recognise that this is not simply an “unnatural death”. It is a death resulting from a human-created hazard.

Whether it is exposed electricity, poorly managed infrastructure, habitat loss, roads, poisoning, conflict or other human activity, wild elephants are increasingly having to navigate a landscape shaped by us, and they are paying the price.

Ronaldo’s death should not become just another statistic.

Nepal must seriously examine why so many wild bull elephants are dying unnatural deaths, identify the threats responsible, and take meaningful measures to prevent them.

Wild elephants should not have to die because of hazards we created.

Rest in power, Ronaldo. 🐘

बाढी प्रभावित पशु र समुदायका लागि हाम्रो उद्धार तथा सहयोगको काम जारी रहँदा, हाम्रा अन्य नियमित कामहरू पनि निरन्तर भइरहेका छन्।

हामी अहिले कीर्तिपुर नगरपालिकाका सबै १० वडामा बृहत् रेबिजविरुद्ध खोप अभियान सञ्चालन गरिरहेका छौँ। हालसम्म वडा नं. १, ३, ४, ७ र ९ मा गरी ४५८ वटा कुकुर र बिरालोलाई रेबिजविरुद्धको खोप दिइसकिएको छ। अभियान अन्य वडाहरूमा पनि जारी छ।

रेबिज मानिस र पशु दुवैका लागि घातक रोग हो। तर सही समयमा खोप लगाएमा रेबिज शतप्रतिशत रोकथाम गर्न सकिन्छ। आफ्ना घरपालुवा र सामुदायिक पशुलाई हरेक वर्ष रेबिजविरुद्धको खोप लगाउनु उनीहरू, हाम्रो परिवार र समुदायलाई सुरक्षित राख्ने महत्वपूर्ण उपाय हो।

सबै पशुलाई खोप लगाउन सधैँ सम्भव नहुन सक्छ। तर कुल पशु जनसंख्याको कम्तीमा ७० प्रतिशतलाई खोप लगाउन सकेमा सामूहिक रोग प्रतिरोधात्मक क्षमता विकास गर्न मद्दत पुग्छ। यसले रेबिज फैलिने जोखिम कम गर्दै पशु र उनीहरूसँगै बस्ने समुदाय दुवैलाई सुरक्षित बनाउन सहयोग गर्छ।

यो अभियान कीर्तिपुर नगरपालिका, All For Paws, IVSA HICAST, NVSA HICAST र Street Souls को सहकार्यमा सञ्चालन भइरहेको छ।

विपद्को समयमा उद्धार र सहयोग जति महत्वपूर्ण छ, रोगको रोकथाम पनि उत्तिकै आवश्यक छ। पशु र समुदायलाई रेबिजबाट सुरक्षित राख्ने हाम्रो अभियान निरन्तर जारी छ।

In the midst of our ongoing response to flood-affected animals and communities, our other work continues.

We are currently carrying out a mass anti-rabies vaccination campaign across all ten wards of Kirtipur Municipality. So far, 458 dogs and cats have been vaccinated in Wards 1, 3, 4, 7 and 9, with the campaign continuing across the municipality.

Rabies is fatal to both animals and humans, but it is also 100% preventable through vaccination. Ensuring that our companion animals are vaccinated every year is one of the most effective ways to protect them, our families and our communities.

While vaccinating every animal may not always be possible, reaching at least 70% of the animal population can help establish herd immunity, reducing the risk of rabies transmission and providing greater protection for both animals and the communities they share their lives with.

This campaign is being carried out in collaboration with Kirtipur Municipality, All For Paws, IVSA HICAST, NVSA HICAST and Street Souls.

Even as we respond to emergencies, prevention remains essential. Our work to protect animals and communities from rabies continues.
