We are honored to share glimpses from the courtesy meeting between the Honorable Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Government of Nepal, Mr. Dipak Khadka, and the President of the International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage (ICID), Mr. Marco Arcieri.

The meeting took place in the gracious presence of the Secretary of the Ministry, Director General of the Department of Water Resources and Irrigation (DWRI), and other senior officials.

We thank President Arcieri for his insights on sustainable irrigation practices and their role in Nepal.

It is our (NENCID and DWRI) pleasure to welcome the President of ICID to Nepal.

Today, we organized a discussion session at the Department of Water Resources and Irrigation (DWRI) on the topic “International Experience Sharing in Irrigation: A New Approach for Sustainable Agriculture,” delivered by Mr. Marco Arcieri, President of the International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage (ICID).

On this occasion, Mr. Sanjeeb Baral, Director General of DWRI and President of NeNCID, warmly welcomed the ICID President and shared his opening remarks, highlighting the importance of global collaboration and knowledge exchange in advancing sustainable agricultural practices.

Theme: Water for Agri-Food System Transformation
The Department of Water Resources and Irrigation is pleased to announce the Poster Presentation segment of the Irrigation Seminar 2025, aimed at fostering innovative ideas and research on sustainable water use in agriculture and food systems.
🔹 Date of Seminar: 15 May 2025
🔹 Venue: Radisson Hotel, Kathmandu
🔹 Submission Deadline for Posters: 5 May 2025
🔹 Notification of the Selected Posters: 9 May 2025
🔹 Eligibility: Open to students, researchers, academicians, and professionals in the field of agriculture, irrigation, and environmental sciences.
📌 Poster Guidelines:
• Posters must align with the seminar theme: “Water for Agri-Food System Transformation”.
• Dimensions: Standard A0 (841 mm × 1188 mm), portrait orientation.
• Content must be original and clearly present research findings, innovative practices, or conceptual frameworks.
