Israel's unlawful and wanton destruction of civilian high-rise buildings continues to have devastating consequences for displaced Palestinian families in the occupied Strip, where reconstruction remains a distant dream amid ongoing and air strikes despite the October 2025 so-called ceasefire.

Israel must allow immediate, unfettered access to indispensable aid and goods, including shelter material. Israeli officials who ordered unlawful destruction, collective punishment or acts of genocide must be held accountable.

In Nepal and around the world, governments scapegoat the vulnerable, they silence protest with violence and label the most at risk as "threats".

We won’t let this continue. Together, we can ensure humanity is protected -- not punished.

In an interview with Madan Khati of News24 Nepal, Amnesty International Nepal Director Nirajan Thapaliya raises urgent questions about the rising human rights violations linked to recent evictions in Kathmandu.

He warns that what is unfolding is a state-created catastrophe—one that demands urgent scrutiny and accountability. Thousands have already been affected, yet there is still no clear plan or safeguards to protect their rights.

Those in temporary holding centres remain under strict state surveillance, deprived of privacy, autonomy, and dignity. Access to media too has been restricted—deepening the gravity of the violations taking place.

Let’s listen, stand together, and speak out for justice. ✊

Losing a home is not just about losing a building structure: it is about losing one’s rights, dignity, and security.

Yet, forced evictions are still surrounded by harmful myths and misinformation.

In this video, we break down common misconceptions and uncover the truth: environment conservation, urban development, and human rights must go hand in hand — not at the cost of people’s homes.

The right to adequate housing is a fundamental human right, protected under Nepal’s Constitution and recognised in international human rights standards, including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights.

Let’s challenge misinformation and stand for justice. ✊

At the 18th Youth Mela, Amnesty Nepal youth members stood in solidarity to demand peace and the protection of civilians in every conflict—from Gaza to Iran, Sudan, and beyond.

They raised a unified call for what can never be compromised: the protection of civilian lives, accountability for all human rights violations, and the defence of fundamental freedoms everywhere.

No conflict justifies the loss of innocent lives. Even in war, human rights must stand. ✊
