Wong advances in Seoul Challenger

Third seed Wong Chak Lam,Coleman黃澤林 served 13 aces and broke serve four times to beat lucky-loser Shin Sanhui (KOR) 6-4 6-4 in the first round. He will next face 132nd-ranked Stefanos Sakellaridis (GRE) for a place in the quarters. Wong was a runner-up here last year.

Wong reaches new career-high

Following his runner-up finish at the Guangzhou International Challenger over the weekend, Wong Chak Lam,Coleman黃澤林 now stands at a new career-high ATP singles ranking of No. 87. He initially broke through the Top 100 barrier in early August of this year after he beat world No. 12 Jiri Lehecka en route to the semifinals of the ATP 250 Los Cabos Open. Wong is the only player from Hong Kong to ever crack the Top 100 since the advent of computer rankings way back in 1973.

黃澤林在週末於廣州國際挑戰賽雖然屈居亞軍，但其 ATP 單打排名已升至職業生涯新高的第 87 位。他於今年八月初首次突破世界前 100 名，當時他在 ATP 250 Los Cabos 公開賽中擊敗世界排名第 12 的 Jiri Lehecka，晉級四強。自1973年電腦排名制度開始以來，黃澤林是唯一一位能打入世界前 100 名的香港球手。

Wong runner-up in Guangzhou Challenger

Although Wong Chak Lam,Coleman黃澤林 delivered 25 aces in today’s Guangzhou International Challenger final, the HK rep managed to land only 53% of first serves in, and an inspired Tristan Schoolkate took advantage with a litany of probing forehands and efficient net play to come from behind and win 4-6 7-6(3) 6-4.

Wong held a 3-0 lifetime record against the Aussie entering today’s final, but Schoolkate returned serve with astonishing anticipation and broke the HK rep four times in all.

Despite the loss, Wong is projected to reach a new career-high in the rankings come Monday.

雖然黃澤林在今日的廣州國際挑戰賽決賽開出 25 個 ace，但其第一發球成功率僅為 53%。對手 Tristan Schoolkate (澳洲)則狀態大勇，憑着正手進攻及高效的網前截擊，最終後來居上以 4-6 7-6(3) 6-4 勝出。

Coleman seeking Challenger title No. 2

Wong Chak Lam,Coleman黃澤林 served 18 aces, won 83% of first serve points and never faced a single break point in today’s semifinal, as he beat 2025 National Games bronze medallist, Zhou Yi (CHN) 7-6(3) 6-3 to reach the Guangzhou International Challenger final. He will next face either world No. 169 Tristan Schoolkate (AUS) or 448th-ranked Cui Jie (CHN) for the title.

Wong powers into Guangzhou SF

At the Guangzhou International Challenger, after winning a tight opener in a tiebreak, Wong Chak Lam,Coleman黃澤林 strong-armed five games in a row from 1-1 in the second set to beat former NCAA No. 3 Jay Friend (JPN) 7-6(4) 6-1. The HK rep will next face 21-year-old Zhou Yi, a bronze medalist in men’s singles at last year’s National Games, in the semis. The pair met once before at the Seoul Challenger 100 last November when Wong triumphed 7-6(2) 4-6 6-2.

廣州南沙國際挑戰賽，頭號種子黃澤林在首盤憑藉決勝局艱難地得手後，在第二盤比分 1-1 時連下五局，最終以 7-6(4) 6-1 擊敗前全美大學排名第三的 Jay Friend (日本) 。下一圈四強對手將會是去年全運會男單銅牌得主, 21歲的周意。黃澤林與周意兩人曾在去年11月的首爾挑戰賽 100 中交手，當時 Coleman 以 7-6(2) 4-6 6-2 獲勝。

Wong advances in Guangzhou Challenger

At the Guangzhou Nansha International Challenger, Wong Chak Lam,Coleman黃澤林 slammed 23 aces and won 85% of first serve points against Australian alternate Jake Delaney. Wong trailed 2-0 in the second set tiebreak after conceding an early mini-break, but he won the next five points to take a commanding 5-2 lead before settling for a 6-4 7-6(4) first round victory. Wong will next face either 382nd-ranked lucky-loser Kasidit Samrej (THA) or 215th-ranked Rio Noguchi (JPN) for a place in the quarters.

Coleman top seed in Guangzhou

Wong Chak Lam,Coleman黃澤林 is the No. 1 seed in next week's Guangzhou Nansha International Challenger 75. He has drawn the 357th-ranked Aussie alternate, Jake Delaney, in the opening round. This will be his first Challenger since winning the gold medal in men's singles at the Asian Games earlier this month.

黃澤林是下星期廣州南沙國際挑戰賽 75 的頭號種子。他在首圈的對手是以替補身分入圍、世界排名第 357 位的澳洲球手 Jake Delaney。這將會是 Coleman 自本月初在亞運會奪得男單金牌以來的第一個挑戰賽。
