A 2-year Department of Health subvented programme, namely the Pilot Alcohol Cessation Counselling Service was launched on 8/4/2024. The service targeted Hong Kong residents identified to have probable alcohol dependence (defined as scoring 20 or above at the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT)) to provide professional assessments and individual alcohol cessation counselling service for people with probable alcohol dependence free of charge.
