We are introducing a new session, “Impact Talk”, inviting changemakers to take the stage and share inspiring stories from their social innovation journeys, along with the experiences, insights and lessons learned along the way.

Selected speakers will receive professional public speaking training organised by 𝐒𝐄𝐒 and led by experienced trainers. Covering presentation techniques, pacing and content structure, the training will help you craft and deliver your social innovation story with confidence, clarity and impact, all within an 8-minute presentation.

Cash flow management remains one of the most common and critical challenges for social enterprises.💪

We were honoured to bring together three speakers from the fields of finance, funder, and management of a social enterprise, who shared their years of insight and experience with the social enterprise founders and changemakers in the room. Through a combination of professional theory and practical experience, the session offered a valuable opportunity to unpack the mindset behind building a more resilient and sustainable social impact ecosystem.🌱

As the environment continues to evolve, so must our approaches. Listening with intention, exchanging ideas openly, and learning from different perspectives are essential first steps towards more stable operations. 【HKU x SES 社會創新挑戰賽 2026 精彩回顧 – 線上諮詢及服務學習體驗 👨‍💻👩‍💻】

要將社會創新點子由概念變成可行方案，除咗創意之外，更重要係學識聆聽需要。 💭

今年挑戰賽從 Lunch & Learn、實地到訪香港傷健協會，到線上諮詢環節、服務學習環節，同學一路都透過同專業人士、服務使用者同社區伙伴交流，慢慢將「自己諗嘅 idea」轉化成「真正回應到需要嘅方案」。🌱

我哋亦好開心得到 眼鏡88 Optical 88 Hong Kong、香港傷健協會 Hong Kong PHAB Association 同 香港大學社會科學學院 (HKU Social Sciences) 嘅支持，為同學舉辦咗三場線上諮詢環節，令佢哋可以從視力健康、傷健共融、智慧城市、社會政策及社區服務等角度，聽到前線專業經驗同建議，並由服務提供者角度出發，加以改進令方案變得更貼地、更有影響力。💡

而喺服務學習環節，同學親身走入社區，同香港傷健協會會員互動交流，聆聽佢哋嘅故事、了解實際需要，亦更深刻體會到：社會創新唔係只靠單一視角，而係要透過對話同理解，先可以孕育出有意義嘅改變。👣

Turning a social innovation idea into a feasible action takes more than creativity — it also takes the ability to listen and understand real needs. 💭

Throughout this challenge, from the Lunch & Learn session and our visit to Hong Kong PHAB Association, to the online consultation and service learning activities, students had the chance to exchange ideas with professionals, service users, and community partners. Step by step, they transformed their own ideas into solutions that truly respond to real needs. 🌱

We were delighted to receive the support of 眼鏡88 Optical 88 Hong Kong, 香港傷健協會 Hong Kong PHAB Association and the Faculty of Social Sciences, The University of Hong Kong (HKU Social Sciences), for the three online consultation sessions. Their frontline experience and expert advice helped students refine their ideas from perspectives including eye health, disability inclusion, smart city development, social policy, and community services, making the proposals more grounded and impactful. 💡

During the service learning session, students stepped into the community and engaged directly with members of the Hong Kong PHAB Association. Through personal stories and meaningful conversations, they gained a deeper understanding of real needs and came to appreciate that social innovation is not built from a single perspective, but through dialogue and understanding. 👣

A heartfelt thank you to all our partners for walking alongside the next generation of changemakers, helping refine ideas step by step and nurturing more impactful social innovation projects for the future. 🌍✨

【HKU x SES 社會創新挑戰賽 2026 精彩回顧 – Lunch & Learn 開幕活動花絮 🥪💡】

「HKU x SES 社會創新挑戰賽 2026」由 香港大學社會科學學院 (HKU Social Sciences) 社創實驗室 同 社企民間高峰會 合辦，並聯同業界專家攜手合作，為同學帶嚟寶貴嘅社創實戰機會，將創新構思轉化成具社會影響力嘅解決方案，一齊建構更關愛共融嘅社區。

今年挑戰賽以 Lunch & Learn 形式揭開序幕，活動聚集咗一班關心社會嘅同學，大家一齊食住傾。我哋亦好榮幸邀請到 Ebenezer School and Home for the Visually Impaired 心光盲人院暨學校 社會服務統籌 杜玉蓮小姐（Shirley To）擔任分享嘉賓，透過第一身故事，帶同學走入視障人士嘅生活日常，了解佢哋所面對嘅挑戰同堅毅精神。🌟

之後，同學去到位於薄扶林嘅香港傷健協會賽馬會傷健營 Hong Kong PHAB Association Jockey Club PHAB Camp，體驗一系列現代化無障礙設施，包括無障礙廚房及健身室等。同學仲參觀咗協會新落成嘅「全港⾸個雙升降台⽔療池」，⽔療池採⽤無障礙設計，可以配合唔同活動能力嘅人士使用，包括長者同輪椅使用者。🤝

今次活動結合嘉賓分享同實地考察，唔單止啟發同學對共融社區實踐嘅新想像，亦為嚟緊嘅挑戰賽做好準備。🚀

The HKU x SES Social Innovation Challenge 2026, co-organised by HKU Social Sciences Social Venture Lab and the Social Enterprise Summit , brings together students to explore social innovation and develop practical solutions for a more inclusive and accessible society. Through collaboration with partners across sectors, students gain hands-on experience in turning ideas into impact. ✨

As the kick-off event, the Lunch & Learn session brought together students who care about social impact to connect, exchange ideas, and learn from one another. 👨‍💻👩‍💻

We were honoured to have Ms Shirley To, Social Service Coordinator at Ebenezer School and Home for the Visually Impaired 心光盲人院暨學校, share her inspiring stories and insights. 🌟 Students gained a deeper understanding of the daily lives, challenges, and resilience of people with visual impairments, learning not only about inclusion, but from lived experience.

We then visited the 香港傷健協會賽馬會傷健營 Hong Kong PHAB Association Jockey Club PHAB Camp in Pok Fu Lam, where students had the chance to learn more about inclusive and barrier-free facilities in Hong Kong. They also toured the Association’s newly completed hydrotherapy pool, the first dual-lift hydrotherapy pool in Hong Kong, designed for elderly and wheelchair users with different mobility needs, as well as the accessible kitchen and gym. 🤝

These learning experiences have laid a solid foundation for students as they move forward in their social innovation journey. 🚀
