Hello, my name is Bunny! I was 1 of 4 kittens found in a flowerbed in a park in Sheung Wan on Valentine's Day 2026.

It was a good thing this was reported to the inspectors, and we were brought into the SPCA, as we were all too young to have survived out on the streets on our own.

After staying with a loving foster family, we are now big enough to move into the adoption centre, where we now wait patiently for our forever homes. Please come visit us and see if we make a good match!

帶狗狗去公眾地方時，主人一定要時刻控制好狗狗，確保狗狗受到妥善控制，並依法繫上狗帶。大家要時刻保持警覺，採取額外措施，保障自己狗隻、其他動物及公眾人士嘅安全。

如果遇到狗狗打架，唔好徒手分開佢哋，以免令人或者狗受傷。如果情況許可，可以嘗試以下較安全嘅方法：

1. 分散注意力：例如向附近拋出衣物、紙箱或其他物件，或者用水、聲響作出干擾
2. 遮擋視線：可用厚外套、毛氈或紙板遮住狗狗頭部，製造短暫干擾
3. 迅速使用「獨輪車法」：從後方抬起狗狗後腿，並直線向後移開（如受過訓練人士可使用）

We are deeply saddened by yesterday’s dog injury and fatality incident. It is a heartbreaking reminder that accidents can happen in a split second.

When bringing dogs into public places, always keep them under control, properly managed and leashed in accordance with the law. Let’s all remain vigilant, take extra measures to ensure the safety of our own dogs, other animals and members of the public.

If a dog fight occurs, never use your bare hands to separate the dogs. If the situation allows, try these safer methods instead:
1. Distract safely — throw clothing, a cardboard box, or another object nearby, or use water or loud noise to interrupt the fight.
2. Block their line of sight — use a thick coat, blanket, or cardboard to cover the dog’s head and create a momentary interruption.
3. Quickly use the “wheelbarrow method” — from behind, lift the dog’s hind legs and move backward in a straight line (for use by trained persons only).

🐱貓BB困引擎 驚險獲救！

8月8日，有市民向愛協求助，話喺粉嶺聽到自己架車入面傳出貓叫聲。督察Edmond到場後，發現原來係一隻細細隻嘅貓BB困咗喺車內引擎位置。經過一輪小心處理，最終成功將貓貓安全救出！

🐱Kitten Trapped in Engine Safely Rescued!

On 8 Aug, a member of the public contacted the SPCA after hearing meowing coming from inside their car in Fanling. When Inspector Edmond arrived at the scene, he discovered that a tiny kitten was trapped inside the engine compartment. After careful handling, the kitten was safely rescued.

Let’s hear Edmond share more about this rescue.

In fact, cases of cats hiding under cars or inside engine compartments happen quite often. If you drive, remember to do the following before starting your car:

🔈 Sound the horn
👀 Check around the wheels for any hidden animals

薄扶林碧瑤灣昨日（8月10日）上午發生一宗持刀傷人案，警方其後在單位內發現一隻受傷貓隻。愛協督察在警方陪同下檢查貓隻身體狀況。

該貓為一隻約半歲大的雌性英國短毛貓，頭部有兩處傷口，其中一處傷勢較深。警方其後檢取貓隻作為證物，愛協督察將牠帶返中心，交由獸醫作詳細檢查。

警方將案件列作殘酷對待動物跟進，受傷貓隻交由愛協醫治及照顧。獸醫已於昨日為貓隻進行手術，目前情況穩定，現正留院觀察。我們將繼續觀察及照顧貓隻。

Yesterday morning (10 August), a knife attack took place at Baguio Villa in Pok Fu Lam. Police later discovered an injured cat inside the unit. SPCA inspectors, accompanied by police officers, examined the cat at the scene.

The cat is a female British Shorthair, around six months old. She sustained two wounds to the head, one of which was relatively deep. Police subsequently took the cat as evidence, and SPCA inspectors brought her back to the centre for a full veterinary examination.

Police are investigating the case as animal cruelty. The injured cat is now under the SPCA’s care for treatment and monitoring. She underwent surgery yesterday, is currently in stable condition, and remains hospitalised for observation. We will continue to closely monitor and care for her.

26樓窗邊驚險獲救 貓貓安全脫險！

2026年5月29日，愛協督察接獲報告，指一隻英國短毛貓坐咗喺一棟住宅大廈 26 樓嘅窗邊，情況非常危險。督察耐心咁引導受驚嘅貓貓返入走廊，再用捕捉網杆將佢安全救起。

好彩，貓貓最終冇受傷，而家正喺青衣中心接受照顧。

起初我哋以為佢應該有主人，但可惜一直冇人嚟認領。呢段時間，我哋一直細心照顧佢，為佢安排絕育手術。之後，佢已轉到領養部，我哋幫佢改名做 Autumn。

Autumn 已經喺 7 月 16 日成功搵到屬於佢永遠嘅家！希望佢喺新屋企可以安心生活，展開幸福新一頁 ❤

Cat Rescued from 26/F Window Ledge!

On 29 May 2026, SPCA inspectors received a report of a British Shorthair cat sitting on the edge of a window on the 26th floor of a residential building in a very dangerous situation. Our inspector patiently guided the frightened cat back into the corridor and safely rescued it using a control net pole.

Thankfully, the cat was not injured and is now receiving care at our Tsing Yi Centre.

At first, we believed she must have had an owner, but sadly no one ever came forward to claim her. During this time, we took good care of her and arranged for her spay surgery. She was later transferred to our Homing Department, where we named her Autumn.

Autumn found her forever home on 16 July! We hope she will settle in happily and begin a wonderful new chapter in her new home. ❤

Temporary Cat Adoption Room Now Open at Tsing Yi Centre

We have recently taken in a large number of cats, and our adoption space is under great pressure. Many cats that are ready for adoption are still being cared for by our foster families while they wait for a loving forever home.

To help more cats be seen and meet potential adopters, we have opened a temporary cat adoption room at the SPCA Tsing Yi Centre Hospital. More than a dozen kittens are currently waiting to meet their future families!
