What does it really look like to follow Jesus in everyday life?

From Sunday 1 November, join us at Swindon Citadel Salvation Army for a new four-week series, Walking in the Way of Jesus, as we explore some of the qualities that shaped Jesus' life and can shape ours today:

💙 Kindness
🌺 Sacrificial Love (Remembrance Sunday)
🛡️ Courageous Faith
☕ Service (Café Church, 22 November)

Whether you've never been to church before, haven't been for years, or you're a regular attender, you'll find a warm welcome. Together we'll discover how walking in the way of Jesus can make a difference in our homes, workplaces, communities and lives.

Come and join us. We'd love to see you there.

This Sunday we concluded our Hearing in a Noisy World series by thinking about what it means to listen for God's direction.

Looking at Acts 16, we saw how Paul and his companions experienced two closed doors. Twice they were prevented by the Holy Spirit from going where they had planned to take the gospel. What must that have felt like? Confusing? Frustrating? Disappointing?

Yet those closed doors were not the end of God's plan. They were a redirection. God led them to Macedonia, where Paul met Lydia, who became the first recorded convert in Europe. What seemed like a "no" was actually God preparing the way for something far greater.

Major Sharon challenged us with these words:
"We often pray, 'Lord, show me the way,' but what we actually mean is, 'Lord, guide me into something comfortable.' Listening for direction means asking, 'Lord, where are you leading me to serve?' Not 'Lord, what's easiest?' But 'Lord, what's faithful.'"

It was a thought-provoking reminder that God's guidance does not always lead us along the easiest path, but it always leads us towards His purpose.

The band beautifully supported our worship with Yet Not I But Christ in Me, reminding us that wherever God leads, our confidence is not in our own strength, but in Christ who walks with us.

As we begin a new week, may we have ears to hear God's voice, courage to accept His redirection, and faith to follow wherever He leads.

What a fantastic afternoon at Messy Church today!

Together we explored the story of Blind Bartimaeus, who called out to Jesus and received his sight. Through lots of fun craft activities, games, singing and storytelling, we discovered that just as Jesus heard Bartimaeus when he cried out for help, Jesus hears us when we call to Him in prayer. 🙏

There was plenty of creativity, laughter and noise as families enjoyed the activities, followed by a wonderful buffet tea kindly donated by members of our corps.

It was loud. It was fun. It was messy. Most importantly, Jesus was praised and His love was shared.

Thank you to everyone who came along and to all those who helped make the afternoon so special. We look forward to welcoming you again at our next Messy Church.

Join us this Sunday as we gather for worship and the final message in our Hearing God in a Noisy World series.

Together we'll explore the story of Paul in Acts 16 and consider an important question: Do we seek God's direction only when it feels comfortable, or are we willing to follow faithfully wherever he leads?

Worship begins at 10.30am and is followed by refreshments and fellowship.

Afterwards, there will also be an opportunity to find out more about what it means to be an Adherent and how this can be part of your journey of faith.

Everyone is welcome. We would love to see you there.
