Who are Swindon Music Trust? 👀🎵

We’re a local charity with a big belief — that music should be accessible to everyone, and that every child and young person should have the opportunity to experience the joy, creativity and confidence that music can bring. 💙

🎶 Our mission is simple:
To support, encourage and inspire people across Swindon through music.

We want to help create opportunities for children and young people to:

💙 Discover a love of music
🎵 Learn new skills
🌟 Build confidence
🎨 Express themselves creatively
🤝 Make friends and feel part of a community
🎶 Develop their musical potential

But we know that not everyone has the same opportunities to access music.

That’s where Swindon Music Trust comes in. 💙

Through fundraising, partnerships, projects and support for music education, we’re working to make music more accessible and help ensure that cost or circumstance doesn’t stand in the way of someone discovering their musical potential.

From supporting music-making in schools to creating opportunities for young people to perform, learn and grow, we’re passionate about making a lasting difference in our local community. 🎶

🎤💙 VOCAL WORKSHOP 💙🎤

Swindon Music Trust, in partnership with Wiltshire & Swindon Community Foundation, is delighted to present an exciting Vocal Workshop led by ITV’s The Voice finalists, Billy & Louie! 🌟

This is a fantastic opportunity for young people aged 12–16 to build confidence, develop their singing and performance skills, and learn from experienced performers in a fun, supportive and engaging environment.

🎶 Students will:
• Improve their singing technique
• Explore songwriting and music creation
• Build confidence performing individually and as part of a group
• Develop stage presence, creativity and collaboration skills
• Gain valuable insight into the music industry

Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced vocalist, this workshop is designed to help every participant learn, grow and enjoy the experience.

📅 Tuesday 4th & Wednesday 5th August
⏰ 9:00am – 1:00pm
📍 Immanuel United Reformed Church, Upham Road, Swindon, SN3 1DH

💙 FREE for eligible children (those in receipt of Free School Meals, EHCP or Pupil Premium – proof of eligibility required)

💷 Cost for non-eligible participants: £9.50 per day

🎶💜 Is Your Child’s School on the List? 💜🎶

Take a look at the image 👀 — Swindon Music Co-operative teaches in schools all across the area, offering children the chance to learn an instrument during the school day with our friendly and experienced tutors.

From piano and guitar to drums, singing, violin, brass, woodwind and ukulele, there are so many ways for children to discover their love of music 🎸🥁🎤🎻

✨ Fun Music Fact:
Children who learn music often develop stronger memory, concentration and problem-solving skills — and it can even help improve confidence and academic performance! Music really does support the whole child 🌟

🎶💜 What an Incredible Vocal Workshop! 💜🎶

We’re still buzzing from our recent Vocal Workshop — what a fantastic group of young singers! 🌟

The energy, confidence and teamwork shown throughout the day was amazing, and we’ve had such lovely feedback from both students and parents. A huge thank you to all the children who took part — your enthusiasm and willingness to step outside your comfort zones made the day so special. 🎤✨

A very special thank you to Billy & Louie (The Voice UK 2024 finalists) for delivering such an inspiring and engaging workshop. The students gained so much from your experience and encouragement.

Louie shared a little insight into what the group worked on:

“We worked on group pieces, adding harmony and making a performance slick. We then moved onto writing a song which we did as a group and then they split off and added onto it. Finally, we did some work on performance and mic technique where we looked at individuals’ performances and perfected them.”

What an opportunity for these young performers! 🎶

We were only able to make this event happen thanks to the generous support of the Wiltshire Music Connect CIC Legacy Fund, administered by Wiltshire and Swindon Community Foundation — thank you for believing in the power of music education 💜

🌟 The good news? Another vocal workshop will be taking place this summer… so watch this space for more information coming soon!
