Good afternoon.

The shop shall be closed from today 26th May.

This is due to the extreme weather we have been blessed with.

The shop shall re open on Monday 1st June at 9 30am.

We do not have air conditioning and the volunteers and customers are struggling.

We please ask that any donations people may have for the shop, are kept till we re open.

We’re thrilled to share some exciting news from Walcot Community Charity Shop! 💙

Thanks to the generosity of our amazing customers — those who donate, shop, and support us every day — we’ve been able to donate a fantastic selection of brand new items to The Base in Swindon, with even more on the way! 🎁🙌

The Base located in Lyndhurst Crescent, Park North, is a brilliant new space offering drop-in sessions, creative arts, sports, life skills workshops, and mental health support for young people. It also provides advice on education, training, and employment — all part of Swindon Borough Council’s mission to Build a Fairer Swindon. 🌟

We're so proud to support this incredible initiative that’s all about helping young people grow, thrive, and prepare for the future.

We heard about a lovely lady who had become so unwell that she couldn’t get out of her home because of her breathing. We didn’t want to see her health deteriorate further or for her mental wellbeing to suffer. 💔

The smile on her face says everything… and her daughter Tracey shares just how much this has meant:

Since becoming unwell and struggling with her breathing, this has given her a little bit of freedom and the chance to get out of the house again. With lots of appointments ahead, it’s already making such a big difference.

✨ Sometimes the most ordinary days bring the most extraordinary moments ✨

The other morning, a set of bagpipes was kindly donated to the shop. Our regular visitor Adam came in the next day with his Aunty Caroline—and he walked back out with the very same bagpipes! 🎶

Adam is a familiar face to us all, often popping in with his mam, dad, aunty, or support worker. He’s a young man with learning difficulties, but what shines brighter than anything is his joy, his curiosity, and the way he lights up the shop every time he visits. 💛

To see Adam’s smile as he carried out those bagpipes reminded us why community matters—because when kindness and opportunity meet, magic happens. 🌟

Here’s to Adam, to music, and to the simple gifts that make life beautiful.

A massive thank you to The Walcot Community Shop for donating a wii console to The Base! At Thursdays youth club, the young people loved it! We couldn't get them off it!

We are incredibly grateful to The Walcot Community Shop for donating over £8000 worth of equipment to The Base Swindon.

They have been so kind and helpful in furnishing and equipping the different rooms at The Base.

Hayley absolutely loves showing off her gorgeous Hair and Beauty Salon and the young people have loved being able to use the equipment there - thanks to the Walcot Community Shop!
