Tonight we were delighted to meet a driving force behind some of Marple’s most exciting community art projects.
Tracy McGuinness-Kelly describes herself as an artist, illustrator, children's author, art mentor, moment catcher, experimenter and community artist.
Some of our members have been involved in producing paintings on small discs which will be used as part of the refurbishment of the mural at Marple’s Rose Hill Station.
Tracy who runs workshops at Goyt Mill in Marple came along to pick some of those up and she kindly brought along some of her beautiful work to show us.

Keeping you up to date with all our latest activities.

We love getting involved in community projects and some of our members have been producing these tiny artworks that are now being varnished before being used as part of the restoration of the “intergenerational installation” which has been at Marple’s Rose Hill station car park for around eight years and is ready for a bit of freshening up.
Volunteers have been brightening up what is already there and in some cases where the elements have done too much damage something new and different will take its place.
Lots of tiny fresh new circles will be added in between the existing ones. There is also some space for some larger completely new paintings.

The votes have now been counted and one of our artists will be presented tomorrow evening (Wednesday October 14th) with the trophy for “favourite painting” at our annual exhibition.
Thank you to the hundreds of visitors who took the time to vote.
We saw some people going around the exhibition a number of times before making their decision.
The only thing we can reveal for now is that it was really close between the top two paintings.
Could it be your favourite painting that has won?
We will also be reviewing what worked well and what might have worked better at the exhibition and we would always welcome your comments and suggestions.

They were also amazed that members use such a wide range of materials to create their artwork.
