On behalf of High Lane Village Neighbourhood Forum (HLVNF) we wish to clarify information relating to some recent posts on Facebook concerning potential Planning Applications.
In particular there was a reference to the 2 proposals, one for 1000 houses on Windlehurst Rd and a further 250 further along Windlehurst Rd.
We wish to clarify the official planning status of these potential proposals.
Currently there are no live Planning Applications to build multiple houses in High Lane!
The Stockport Local Plan (SLP) Consultation that took place late last year, closing date December 21st, invited comment on the proposal for 1000 houses to be built in High Lane. The site for this proposal is at the rear of Windlehurst Rd extending to the Middleway Way, in an East West Direction. In the North South Direction, the proposed site starts on the fields behind the houses near the junction with Andrew Lane and extends to the start of Middlewood Woods which are the fields facing the Royal Oak on the A6. In the SLP Consultation this area was labelled as HL7 & HL8.
To date, there are no formal Planning Applications submitted to SMBC for these locations or part thereof.
Further, Persimmon Homes have carried out there own Public Consultation for 250 Houses off Windlehurst on the right hand side heading in the Marple Direction starting just after Andrew Lane extending nearly to Bateson Trailers Works opposite Torkington Lane. This was not official and as such the Forum did not respond, but support others who did.
There is rumour that an application for Planning Permission has been submitted, this not so! An Application has been submitted to assess whether an Environmental Impact Statement is required prior to any official application being submitted. In consequence there is currently no proposal and no need to submit objections to SMBC.
Should proposals for Planning Permission be officially submitted in the future, this will then be the time to submit objections, and we will notify Forum members, and our Facebook.
The HLVN Forum works with the High Lane Residents Association and both will be vigorously opposing these proposals to develop what is still officially Green Belt.
HLVNF and many residents, have already submitted hundreds of objections to the proposed High Lane using our responses to the SLP at the end of last year.
An update on future actions to be taken by HLVNF and guidance for future input/actions from residents will be provided once we receive further information!
