📦 House clearance completed in Sheffield 📦

These photographs show the property following completion of a recent house clearance carried out by our team.

The clearance helped a local family at a difficult time whilst generating vital income to support our charitable work.

Out of respect for the family, we won't be sharing any "before" photographs. House clearances often take place during sensitive periods in people's lives and we always aim to treat both our customers and their homes with dignity and respect.

On this occasion, the carpets remained in the property for the new owners and the customer was also retaining the ladders, which is why they were left behind.

Many people know us for our free furniture collection service, where we collect donated furniture and household items for redistribution to people in need across Sheffield. We are proud to continue offering this service free of charge.

Alongside this, we now provide full and partial house clearances. Income generated through these clearances helps fund our charitable activities, whilst reusable items are given a second life through redistribution or sale.

All house clearances are priced on a quote-by-quote basis, allowing us to take into account the size of the property, access arrangements, disposal costs and any items that may be suitable for reuse for Sheffield people in need.

✅ Full house clearances
✅ Partial clearances
✅ Garage clearances
✅ Shed/outbuilding clearances
✅ Furniture removal
✅ Friendly, professional service
✅ No-obligation quotations

If you're considering a house clearance, or have furniture you'd like to donate, we'd love to hear from you.

🎉 20,000 referrals and counting! 🎉

Our referral system has recently recorded its 20,000th referral this week.

Reaching this milestone is a reminder of the scale of need St Vincent's Furniture Project Sheffield has responded to over many years.

Since 1987, we have supported tens of thousands of people across Sheffield who have experienced poverty, homelessness, domestic abuse, poor health, social exclusion and other challenging circumstances.

Behind every referral is a person, couple or family needing support to establish a safe, comfortable and dignified home.

We continue to work alongside over 100 referral agencies, collect thousands of donated items from generous members of the public and deliver essential furniture and household goods to people who would otherwise be living in empty or inadequately furnished accommodation.

This milestone belongs to everyone who has contributed to the project over the years:

💙 Volunteers
💙 Staff
💙 Funders
💙 Donors
💙 Referral partners

Thank you for helping us continue our mission of turning houses into homes.

Whilst we're proud to have reached this milestone, it also reflects the fact that too many people continue to experience poverty, hardship and crisis. Until that changes, we'll continue doing everything we can to help people establish safe, comfortable and dignified homes.

Could you spare a few hours a week?

We're looking for a Volunteer Warehouse Assistant to join our team at St Vincent's Furniture Project Sheffield.

🛏️ Preparing furniture for delivery
🧹 Helping keep the warehouse clean, safe and tidy
🛠️ General practical tasks and warehouse support

This is a hands-on role and would suit someone who enjoys keeping busy, working as part of a team and doesn't mind a bit of DIY.

🎉 THE NINJA MADE IT! 🎉

After an incredible 19 days in the saddle, The Ninja (Helen) completed the North Cape 4000! 🚴‍♀️

Covering an astonishing 4,010km through Europe and into the Arctic Circle, Helen battled torrential rain, freezing temperatures, relentless headwinds, steep mountain climbs, mechanical issues, wild camping, sleep deprivation and more than a few moments when most of us would have called it a day.

The final 30km to North Cape proved to be one of the toughest parts of the entire challenge, with gale-force winds strong enough to blow Helen off her bike several times. Despite the conditions, she pushed on to the finish line where she was greeted by her husband, Ciaran (one of our fantastic volunteers), who had travelled all the way to North Cape to welcome her home.

What in incredible achievement!

Not only has she completed one of Europe's toughest endurance cycling challenges, but she has done so whilst raising a lot of money for us!!

So far, Helen has raised over £2,700, with donations still coming in.

Every pound raised will help us provide furniture and household essentials to people across Sheffield who are moving into unfurnished accommodation and cannot afford the basic items needed to turn a house, flat or bedsit into a home.

From everyone at St Vincent's Furniture Project,

Thank you, Ninja. Your determination, resilience and commitment have been truly inspiring.

If you'd like to support Helen's fundraising, there's still time to donate:
