Metal Detectors in Education: A Student-Centred Approach

What do students actually think about metal detectors in their college?

Always An Alternative set out to find out – surveying 1,004 students across City and Hillsborough campuses following a knife-related tragedy and growing national debate over weapon-detection arches in schools.

METAL DETECTORS IN EDUCATION — SAFETY SOLUTION OR FALSE SENSE OF SECURITY?

Professionals have their opinions.
Parents have their opinions.
Politicians have their opinions.
But what do the students think? 👀

We decided to stop guessing and ask them.
📊 1,000+ students surveyed
🏫 2 Sheffield college campuses
❓ 33 questions
👥 7 demographic areas

And the results could challenge what many people think students want.

The full report is currently being analysed, and we're hoping to have it completed before the new academic year.

Don't tell young people what they need. Ask them. Then listen.
