Afternoon all,

Apologies for the radio silence, but we have an update for you.

Unfortunately the WRC will be taking a hiatus this year. We hope you all understand, it takes quite a lot both emotionally and physically to organise each year and due to personal and professional commitments this summer we're unable to do it justice and deliver as we'd like.

This is only a fallow year (taking a leaf out of Glastonbury's book) and we fully expect to be back firing on all cylinders in 2026.

Again we're sorry to those teams wanting a shot at the title, the fans cheering on their favourite teams and our 2 charities. We will be back though, better than ever.

Hi all,

Now the dust has settled on another incredible WRC we just wanted to say a huge thank you to all of the teams, their supporters and our volunteers who made it such a fantastic day.

I hope you all had fun. As well as seeing some old faces it was great to meet so many new people this year.

On the charities front, we're still getting a few donations trickling in through our GoFundMe page which we will leave up till the end of the week in case anyone still wants to donate but hasn't had chance yet. As it stands we have raised nearly £1,300 for our charities Gambling with Lives and Sheffield Mind

It's a phenomenal total and at the risk of repeating myself we can't thank you enough for all the support and donations. Smashing effort and you all deserve a big pat on the back!

I'll leave it there now as I've done enough waffling on over the last few days and I'm sure you're all very close to losing interest!

Little reminder for everyone coming down to the tournament tomorrow... The Football League (showing little regard for local amateur 5 a-side tournaments!) have arranged for Sheffield United to be playing at home at 3 o'clock on Sunday. If you get here for the start of the tournament you should be reyt but street parking could be limited and Bramall Lane (the road, not the ground) could be partially closed depending what time you get here!

A minor annoyance, but we won't let it spoil the day will we eh?!?!

Not long until the big day now and preparations are well underway.

Unfortunately, one of our teams has informed us they are unable to make the tournament on Sunday 1st of September, so a space has become available.

If you're reading this and yourself or anyone you know fancies entering Sheffield's #1 charity 5 a-side tournament* then please get in touch with us through social media or via our email [email protected]

It's first come, first served so please act swiftly and decisively if you are able to fill a team slot!

Once we've got this little loose end tied up you can look forward to the draw for the group stages!

Thank you everyone for the unbelievable response to the tournament announcement. We're delighted to say that we've already filled the 12 spots for teams! Plenty of old faces but a few new ones too should make it another exciting edition of the William Ramsay Cup!

Commiserations to those who have missed out, if you'd like to drop us an email to [email protected] you can be on our reserve list in case of drop outs. First come, first served as always.

Meanwhile it's time for the pre-season training to begin! Just under 3 months to go, that's plenty of time to get in shape for it right?!

Put it in the diary folks!

We've officially got the date for the 2024 edition of the William Ramsay Cup.

Sunday September 1st 12-4pm.

Thanks again to the incredible U-Mix Centre Sheffield for hosting us, it's always an incredible occasion and here's hoping for another one this year!

As always we will be raising funds via team entries, donations and the refreshments stall on the day for our 2 charities Gambling with Lives and Sheffield Mind.

WOW!

So the final donations through our GoFundMe page have come through, the page is now closed for donations. Thank you to each and every one of you who donated through there, on the day, bought stuff from the stall, played or supported and helped out in any way big or small.

We're delighted to be able to announce that together we have raised £1,188.73 to be shared between our two charities Gambling with Lives and Sheffield Mind

An absolutely phenomenal effort thank you all again so, so much. Here's to next year being an even bigger and better success!

Just want to drop a quick message to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped out, took part, came down to spectate or donated.

It felt like the best day yet for the William Ramsay Cup and I hope you all had fun in the sun.

We're still receiving donations and waiting for card payments to come through but will have an update on what we managed to raise for our 2 amazing charities soon enough.

In the meantime, here's a few champs enjoying some victorious shandies after yesterday's exploits...
