Community minded and community run general grocery shop.

St Germans Community Shop is a general store run by the villagers, offering an extensive range of local products and essential groceries, as well as Post Office services. We stock daily newspapers, magazines, bread, cakes, to***co, alcohol, frozen foods, dairy products, pet supplies. Our Post Office services include Parcelforce and Royal Mail Services, bill payments, Paystation electricity top-ups, cheque deposits, cash Withdrawal/deposits, and online currency collections. Monday to Friday: 9am - 1pm
3pm - 5pm
Saturday: 9am - 12pm
Sunday: 9am - 11am

The shop is located next door to the Eliot Arms pub on the main road that runs through the village.

This Wednesday is the Annual Members Meeting (formerly the Annual General Meeting).

Thank you to everyone who braved the weather today and came down to the shop. Thankfully with the aid of a number of battery operated lights and battery pack (which I can highly recommend) which powered our till we were able to open and offer a near normal service.

The good news is we have plenty of bread and cakes. The bad news is we do not have any milk, cheese, cream, butter and dairy products or any sliced meats, or any refrigerated goods. The earliest we will have any milk is Monday.

National Grid are currently suggesting the power will be restored for 10pm this evening.

We will be open as normal tomorrow (Sunday 25th Oct)

Shop Update.
Saturday 24th Oct, we are open and doing what we can. At the moment we can take card payments until the power in our battery bank runs out.

We cannot sell any of the stock in our fridges or freezers.

23/10/2026

The shop is still without power and the current estimated time to reinstate power is 1pm Saturday 24th Oct. IF we are still without power in the morning we may be able to open, however without power it will be cash only and there will be no Post Office. The contents of our fridges will have to be disposed off and the earliest we will be able to start to replenish them is Monday. We are sorry that we will not have any milk, butter, cheese, salad items, sliced meats etc over the weekend.
