She got the job! 🎉Huge congratulations to Emma* who has just secured a new role!

Emma came to us preparing for an important interview. After her coaching session and styling appointment, she told us: "I am immensely grateful for all the help and support. I left feeling much more confident and prepared. Thank you!"

But Emma didn't stop there. She came back to for her second dressing and brought gifts for the team - tea, chocolates, flowers, and this beautiful handwritten note:

"Dear Smart Works team! Thank you so much for all your help and support. I would never have felt as prepared for my interview as I was without you!"

This is what we do it for. The moment a woman walks through our doors feeling uncertain, and leaves feeling ready. The follow-up message telling us she got the job. The kindness and gratitude she shows along the way.

Emma, we're so proud of you. Congratulations on your new role - you absolutely deserve it! 💙

"The work you do goes so much deeper than just clothing and resumes; you provide the confidence to believe in ourselves again."

We received this beautiful message from a client this week, and we had to share it.
She came to us at the start of a new career phase - a daunting moment for anyone. After her coaching session and styling appointment, she left feeling empowered, job-ready, and confident.

But here's what we want you to know: none of this happens without our volunteers. The coaches who give their time and expertise. The stylists who help clients find that outfit - the one that makes them stand up a little straighter. The volunteers behind the scenes keeping everything running smoothly.

This week alone, we've received cake, biscuits, tea bags, chocolates, and heartfelt thank you cards from grateful clients. We've sent five women to our partners .hair for complimentary haircuts ahead of their interviews - and they all loved it.

It's been an all-round awesome week with our really lovely clients. And it's all possible because of the people who show up, week after week, to support women they've never met.

To our volunteers: thank you. You are the reason messages like this land in our inbox. You are the reason women walk into interviews feeling like the best version of themselves.

We see you. Our clients see you. And we're so grateful. 💙

🚨 URGENT DONATION REQUEST 🚨

We’re currently very low on smart black women’s trousers in size 16 at Smart Works Reading and we urgently need more to support upcoming client appointments.

Every week, women come to us ahead of important interviews looking for an outfit that helps them feel confident, comfortable and ready to succeed. Right now, this is one of the biggest gaps in our wardrobe.

If you have any trousers you no longer wear that are still in excellent condition (or new), please consider donating 💙

We’re looking for:

✨ Clean, interview-ready and in great condition

She got the job! 🎉

We’re so excited for Tatiana, who has landed a job as a NAZ Process Manager. Here she is after her professional dressing session with us - we’re loving the green!

Tatiana says that having a job means a lot to her as it enables her to have a regular routine, as well as to provide for her children. About her experience with us Tatiana says -

“Smart Works was such a fundamental piece, it gave my confidence back and it felt like a very safe space. Everyone I met was really helpful and kind, and I truly appreciate all they have done for me. I will be forever grateful.”

This fills our hearts and reminds us why we put so much work into what we do - together we can make a difference for women when they need it most.
