As Volunteer Week comes to a close, we would like to give a special shoutout to our newest volunteer, Jacob.

Jacob recently joined the BCF team as a finance volunteer and has been supporting us on a range of finance projects. We are delighted to benefit from his skills and expertise while he continues his journey toward securing his dream role within an accountancy firm.

A big thank you to Jacob, and to all of our incredible volunteers.

We truly couldn’t do it without you.

Yesterday, our Community Impact Manager, Ellie, joined the team from SNG and Greenham Trust in visiting Bridge For Young People’s Wessex House.

Bridge provides a home and support to young people (aged 16-25) who are leaving care or who are homeless. They opened Wessex House in 2025 which provides housing for up to 13 young people, six in the main house and 7 in the adjoining flats.

Through the UKCF Care Leavers Programme, BCF, SNG and Greenham Trust are jointly funding a support worker who provides floating support to the young people ready to move into the flats or into their own accommodation.

Now in the second year of delivery, its inspiring to see the difference this partnership is making. Thank you Bridge for Young People for having us. ♥️

We were delighted to attend the inspiring Flight of Fantasy concert this week.

Hosted by Berkshire Youth Wind Orchestra and Berkshire Youth Training Orchestra, the evening highlighted musical excellence and creativity from talented young performers across Berkshire.

"Monday night was a wonderful culmination of Spring courses for two wonderful county-wide music groups and I was delighted with the talent on display and the confidence and joy the young people radiated." - Berkshire Music Trust CEO, Dawn Wren

A huge thank you to everyone involved for such a memorable evening!

🌟 We were thrilled to attend Ren Kapur MBE’s High Sheriff swearing in ceremony on Friday! 🌟

Ren is now officially the High Sheriff of the Royal County of Berkshire for 2026–27, taking over from Sean Taylor DL. Her year will focus on serving the county, raising awareness of the magistracy, and championing charities that support young people including those who are neurodiverse or at risk of becoming NEET.

We are especially excited that Ren plans to work closely with Berkshire Community Foundation to highlight and support the brilliant local organisations making a real difference across our communities.

Ren brings huge energy and experience as a social entrepreneur, Army Reservist and Founder of X Forces Enterprise, as well as her wider work supporting equality of opportunity, education, and skills.

Congratulations, Ren! We look forward to partnering with you throughout the year ahead.
