Taff Rocks Providing public workshops, classes and seminars for the tuition and creation of art using a variety of media, not just rocks!

Registered in England and Wales as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), registered charity number: 1192749. Our community workshops are as back to as near "normal" as possible. Some events require prebooking, many do not. We'd love nothing more than to provide resources and equipment for free, but this is not possible. we ask for contributions towards workshop costs payable on the door by

We have two types of reservation, if this is something you want to do. We have "workstation", can accommodate up to four people and "individual", we do not mix these in one workshop / class. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Remember to cancel online if you change your mind so the reservations become available for someone else to book. The earlier the notice, the better chance we have of filling the spaces. Non attendance without a cancellation means your table remains empty

Designed for groups that manage volunteers or would like to in the future, this session will explore how to support, reimburse and celebrate volunteers, as well as how to include volunteer costs in grant applications.

🎉 We’ve got some exciting news to share! 🎉

Taff Rocks is absolutely delighted to announce that we have been awarded funding from The National Lottery Community Fund!

Thanks to National Lottery players, we’ve received an incredible grant, helping us continue our work for the next two years and expand what we do with new creative opportunities and an even bigger repertoire – just to name a few of the exciting plans ahead!

This funding will also bring some benefits to Smyrna, helping us extend the positive impact across our community.

We cannot thank National Lottery players enough for making this possible. Your support helps turn ideas into reality and creates opportunities that make a real difference in people’s lives. Amazing things really do happen because of you! 💙

We’re on the hunt for empty glass roll-on deodorant bottles. ♻️

We’re looking for donations of clear glass roll-on deodorant bottles for an interesting art-based project we’d love to experiment with.

Requirements:
• Clear glass bottles only
• Must include the roller ball, housing, and cap
• Please give the outside a quick wash before donating
• Brand doesn’t matter

If you have any empties heading for the recycling bin, we’d be very grateful so we can give them a second life at something creative.

They can be dropped off at Smyrna, Aberfan any term-time Thursday morning from 10am. If you can't get to Smyrna, send us a message so we can arrange local collection.

Bring your leaves 🌿🍀🍃☘️
Our next workshop falls in Jurassic June, a month-long fan-created celebration of all things prehistoric!
In our June workshop, air drying clay will be available. Why not pick the biggest leaf, or leaves, you can find, ferns, hosta leaves, chestnut tree leaves, sycamore leaves, why not a cabbage leaf or any leaves you like the look off.
Make sure they are fresh on the day and they have good detail on the reverse.
Roll out your clay, roll the leaf onto the clay, giving it a good press.
Cut about the leaf then remove it. You can now leave it dry and paint in a few days.
Whilst drying you can place them in a bow so they dry in that shape!
