London Marathon 2027 - 6 Month Countdown

Our runners aren’t just taking on a personal challenge, they are making a real difference for our Cynon Valley PALS families.

Every penny raised will be used to provide fun, accessible, inclusive activities where our families can make memories together.

Our amazing runners have been busy fundraising in all sorts of ways, including quiz nights, charity collections, raffles, fun activities, bonus ball lotteries, sweet sales, clothing sales and Last Man Standing competitions.

London Marathon 2027 - 6 Month Countdown

With six months to go until the London Marathon, our Cynon Valley PALS runners are working hard to prepare for the big day.

Behind every marathon is a huge amount of effort involving early starts, long training runs, busy schedules and plenty of determination.

They are already putting in the miles, with half marathons and 5K runs under their belts. Some will also be taking part in the Nos Galan Road Races on New Year's Eve as they continue their Marathon preparations.

London Marathon 2027 - 6 Month Countdown

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share a quick, honest, and incredibly exciting update on how my training and fundraising is going for the London Marathon! I am so incredibly proud to be taking on this challenge to raise vital funds for Cynon Valley PALs.

The Training Update: Sidelined but staying positive! 🏃‍♂️
September got off to an absolute flying start when I successfully crushed the Cardiff 10k! It felt amazing to get a race under my belt and build up some serious momentum. Unfortunately, my legs had other plans, and I’ve hit a small speed bump since the beginning of October. I am currently resting up with a minor strain.
The good news is that I’m working closely with a physio to get me sorted! I’m taking my recovery seriously, doing my rehab exercises, and fully aiming to be back on the roads by mid-November. From there, the focus will be building back up toward a half marathon at the beginning of next year, which will be my next massive stepping stone toward London!

The Fundraising Update: Turning rest time into Vinted triumphs! 👗✨
While my legs have been forced to rest, I certainly haven't been sitting idle! I’ve been channeling all of that extra time and energy into my fundraising, collecting pre-loved clothes donations and selling them on Vinted. Because I've been out of training, I’ve been able to pour so much extra time into listing, packing, and posting items!
Who would have thought that when I started out with the fundraising, putting things on Vinted would actually get me right up to my target and potentially way beyond? It has been absolutely incredible!

Thanks to your amazing wardrobe donations and this extra push, I am well on my way and now just £200 away from hitting my £2,500 minimum target!
Hitting this milestone will be amazing, but I don't want to stop there—I want to raise as much money as humanly possible for this incredible cause!

London Marathon 2027 - 6 Month Countdown

🩷 Hi PALS Families! 🩷

We just wanted to pop on and share a little update with you all!

Our fundraising is going incredibly well, and we honestly can’t thank you all enough for the love and support you’ve shown us so far. We’re now just £576 away from hitting our £5,000 target! 🎉🥹 We’re so close, and it’s amazing to see what we can achieve when everyone comes together.

As for the running… we’re still going strong! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ Although, we won’t lie, it’s getting harder as the winter months creep in. Trying to fit marathon training around being parents to three crazy children is definitely keeping us on our toes! 🤪 There are days when finding the time and energy is a real challenge, but we keep reminding ourselves why we’re doing this.

Our first half marathon is coming up on 1st November, which is a huge milestone for us! 🥇 We’ll keep pushing ourselves, digging deep, and putting in the miles, even on the tough days, because we know how much this journey means and the difference it could make for our children. 💕

A massive THANK YOU from our little Lucas family to every single person who has donated, supported our events, shared our posts, or simply cheered us on. We genuinely couldn’t do this without you.

We’ve still got a long road ahead of us until next April, and we know there will be plenty of tough days along the way, but we’re determined to give this everything we’ve got.

London Marathon 2027 - 6 Month Countdown

Today the 6 month countdown begins for our Sunday marathon runners. On Sunday 25th April 2027, they'll be heading to London to take part in the marathon.

The next six months are going to be busy for our two incredible Cynon Valley PALS runners as they prepare for the challenge.

It's not just about the running as alongside their training, our runners will be working hard to raise vital funds for Cynon Valley PALS.

The money they raise will help us continue providing memorable experiences, fun activities and inclusive opportunities for our families.

London Marathon 2027 - 6 Month Countdown

The countdown is officially on. In six months time on Saturday 24th April four of our amazing Cynon Valley PALS runners will be taking on the challenge of the London Marathon. This is a historic year where the marathon will be run on the Saturday as well as the Sunday.

They'll be putting in the miles, tackling the training and taking on fundraising challenges to raise money for Cynon Valley PALS.

Every penny raised will help us provide fun, inclusive play and leisure activities for our families.

🎃🍂 Pumpkin Picking at Colliers Adventure Farm 🍂🎃

Cynon Valley PALS had a lovely time this evening pumpkin picking at Colliers Adventure Farm.

We all enjoyed exploring the pumpkin patch and choosing our own pumpkins to carve. There was lots of autumn fun.

A big thank you to Colliers Adventure Farm for helping our PALS families make some lovely memories together.
