🏟️ PITCH UPDATE 🏟️

The playing and surrounding area has had some much needed maintenance in today’s glorious weather.

We’ve added the rugby league style lines for the Cynon Valley Cavaliers U12s fixture against Rhondda Outlaws tomorrow at half 12. Hopefully this will help both the players and the referee.

If you are at a loose end tomorrow. Get yourself up the field for some summer rugby action.

⚫️🟡 CHANGING OF THE GUARD 🟡⚫️

After 7 years of steering the ship both on and off the field Lewis Morgan steps down as skipper for the upcoming season.

Rhigos RFC is proud to announce our new team leadership for the upcoming season!

👏 Ben Morris has been appointed Team Captain

👏 Ryan Callaghan has been appointed Vice Captain

Both players have consistently demonstrated commitment, passion, and leadership on and off the field. We have no doubt they will lead by example and help drive the club forward as we continue to build on our values of teamwork, pride, and community.

🏉 COACHING ANNOUNCEMENT 🏉

Here’s our coaching team for the upcoming season as we look ahead to another battle in Division 3. We are delighted to announce we have retained our coaching team for another season.

⚫️ Jason steps into the role of Head Coach
🟡 Duane continues as Team Manager
⚫️ Ben remains in charge of the backs
🟡 Chris takes on responsibility for the forwards, both on and off the field

This coaching group brings a wealth of experience, passion and knowledge of the club. All four have proudly represented the club as players, with both Jason and Duane having captained the side during their playing careers.

Young, driven and meticulous in their approach, the team is committed to building on the club’s strong foundations and helping the squad reach its full potential this season. We’re excited to see where their leadership takes us.

We would also like to place on record our sincere thanks to Emori Katalu for his outstanding service over the past seven seasons. His dedication, commitment and contribution to the club have been immense, and we wish him every success in the next chapter of his journey.

🏆 PRESENTATION NIGHT 🏆

A successful evening last night as we hosted our 49th annual dinner. There was plenty of beer flowing as we come together to reflect on a successful season securing Division 3 rugby and a cup run to the semis.

Congratulations to all the award winners, they are all well deserved. We go again this season hoping to improve on last seasons achievements.

Some exciting announcements to be made over coming days/ weeks.

First preseason game is booked in for August 8th so keep the diary free 🏉

A big week in the clubhouse as we host our annual Presentation Night. What a season it’s been. Full of ups and down as we missed out on a finals trip to Cardiff but secured Division 3 rugby for another season.
