A Message from the Company at Christmas Team
It is with a mixture of sadness and deep gratitude that we share an important update regarding 'Company at Christmas' for 2025.
For over a decade, starting with a small idea in 2015, we have had the immense privilege of bringing company and a wonderful Christmas meal to those who would
otherwise be on their own on Christmas Day. From our start at St. Fagan’s Community Hall to our later years at St John the Baptist Church in Wales School, this project has grown exponentially. It has seen hundreds of cherished guests and an incredible number of dedicated volunteers come together to create a truly joyous
and memorable occasion.
We have always kept our organising team purposefully small, allowing us to more easily manage the huge three-month task of making the arrangements for our guests - their transportation to the venue by volunteer drivers, delivering meals for those
unable to join us on the day, and coordinating our wonderful teams of volunteers. It is a massive undertaking, requiring countless hours of effort and love from our small, dedicated core.
Due to ongoing serious illness, changes in family, and personal circumstances affecting our small organising team, we have had to make the difficult but necessary decision not to hold Company at Christmas for 2025.
We know this news will come as a disappointment to our dear guests and our dedicated volunteers alike, and we share in that deeply. This was not a decision taken lightly, but we must prioritise the well-being of the team that makes this project
possible year after year.
Although asking for new volunteers to take over the organisation and administration would seem to be an option, the task of handing over and mentoring a new team is in itself a huge undertaking and one that we are currently unable to manage.
We sincerely hope that you will understand our position and the reason for our decision at this challenging time for our team. Taking this break will allow us to regroup in the heartfelt hope to be back for Christmas 2026, refreshed and ready to
create those special memories once again.
In the meantime, we send our deepest love and thanks to everyone who has supported, attended, or volunteered over the years. You have all been a part of something truly special.
With love and hope,
The Company at Christmas Team.
