How do we use AI responsibly, without compromising the integrity of learning? That was the question at the centre of every discussion on Day 3, and the answer wasn't about the tools. It was about rethinking how we teach, assess, and learn altogether.

This is our programme in action. Building AI-literate institutions from within.

Thank you to our volunteer professor Dr Joy Mutegi from Kenya, and to Prof. Jawad Khan, Faculty Development Specialist from California, who brought depth and expertise across borders to Accra, hashtag at Academic City University.

"Who owns AI, and who should be responsible for governing it?"

It's the kind of question that can turn a classroom discussion into something much bigger.

This week, Professors Without Borders is partnering with Academic City University in Accra, Ghana (8–12 June) to explore how AI is shaping higher education and entrepreneurship.

Among the many conversations taking place, this question, raised during a session led by Dr Joy Mutegi, stood out, not because there was an obvious answer, but because it opened the door to deeper discussions about responsibility, ethics, and the future of AI.

The discussion highlighted just how important these conversations have become as AI continues to shape the world around us.

More from Ghana soon.

Meet Eva M. Benedi LL.M., MBA, our Luxembourg Trustee.

For Eva, becoming a trustee at Prowibo is deeply connected to her own life experience and long-standing belief in the importance of education.

Growing up in Barcelona in a humble family of Spanish immigrants, Eva remembers always being curious about the world, wanting to learn, travel, understand cultures, and ask questions beyond the environment she grew up in. She reflects on how access to education, languages, and knowledge can completely shape a person’s opportunities and perspective on life.

Through Prowibo, Eva values the chance to contribute to a more inclusive and connected world, where education is not reserved for a privileged few, but becomes something that helps people grow, think freely, and create better futures for themselves and others.

She also believes education gives people the confidence to challenge limitations, make their own choices, and become more open-minded toward others and the world around them.

“We all have the right to learn, grow, and shape our own future.”

We are grateful to have Eva as part of Prowibo’s Luxembourg trustee group and look forward to the passion and perspective she brings to the organisation.

What does financial reporting look like when your work is helping women farmers access clean water, improve their livelihoods, and build more resilient communities?

For Session 4 of the NGO Fellowship Programme, we are pleased to welcome Madjalia Seynou, Founder and Executive Director of FarmSahel.

Born in rural Burkina Faso, Madjalia is a financial controller and social entrepreneur with more than a decade of experience in nonprofit finance. Through FarmSahel, she has worked to empower smallholder women farmers through financial literacy, regenerative agriculture, and improved access to clean water.

Drawing on both financial expertise and practical experience leading a grassroots organisation, Madjalia will share insights on Financial Accounting & Reporting and how strong financial management supports transparency, accountability, and long-term sustainability in the nonprofit sector.

🚀 Teaching Economics in Ghana

We’re working with the University Of Cape Coast (UCC) to explore how economics is taught using real-world data.

Students and faculty will engage with how uncertainty is approached in practice, including through methods like Bayesian analysis.

We’ll be sharing more from Cape Coast in the coming weeks.

“Work smarter, not harder when it comes to visibility.”

What if better storytelling could help more communities be seen, heard, and supported?

The NGO Leaders Fellowship 2026 (Women & Food: Lead Change in Your Community) by Prowibo brought together NGO leaders across Africa for a Building Your Brand: Roundtable session led by Denise Reid MBA and Heidi Happonen, MBA. The session explored how branding and storytelling can turn strong work on the ground into greater visibility, trust, and impact.

In the discussion, Paulina Mbango, one of our fellows and founder of Agri-Women Network, reflected on a key takeaway from the session:

“Many of our farmers already have incredible products but struggle with visibility. By strengthening how we present ourselves through storytelling, branding, and partnerships, we can build trust and open up new market opportunities.”

Behind her words are more than 400 women in agriculture, and a shared effort to improve access to information, resources, and markets. It was great seeing how these discussions resonated with leaders working across different communities in Africa.

🚀 We’re returning to Ghana in just a few weeks.

This programme will focus on AI in education, working directly with educators and students to explore how these tools can be used in real learning environments.

From rethinking assessment to experimenting with AI, the focus is on practical ideas that can be applied beyond the classroom.

In partnership with Academic City University, this programme continues to bring global expertise into local learning spaces.
