Researchers have found an estimated 180,000 giant tortoises living on Aldabra Atoll, Seychelles, after decades of conservation.

This might be one of the greatest conservation success stories in the Indian Ocean.

Rest in peace, Maricarmen 🕊️. She died a hero, but she should never have had to become one.

Maricarmen was a victim of a terrible system that values money over people, profit over dignity, and property over the basic right to live in your own home.

When the news broke that protests lead by the Sindicato de inquilinas e inquilinos de Madrid had helped her win back the right to go home, we placed this plaque at her door in Madrid as a global citizens tribute, but she never made it home.

Farewell Maricarmen. And for you, we’ll keep fighting in Spain and everywhere in the world for a better tomorrow. 🕊️

Our rivers and lakes are facing pollution from sewage, agriculture, and “forever chemicals” – which have been linked to a range of risks for both wildlife and human health. Listen to the science behind investigating these problematic , and how they have the potential to knock entire ecosystems out of balance.
And here’s the maddening part: spreading sewage sludge on farmland doesn’t make PFAS pollution disappear – it can simply send those chemicals back into our waterways through runoff and drainage.

Think we need action NOW to tackle pollution from forever chemicals?

More than 190,000 people have joined the call to defend the Pilmaiquén River.

Amanda Huichalaf and Francisco Aliaga, Mapuche Williche representatives, thank everyone who has signed the petition and stood with their communities from around the world.

After bringing their concerns directly to Norway, the delegation continues to seek answers and accountability.

“We are the people who are going to suffer in the future.”

Prajwol Bickram Rana from Worlds Youth For Climate Justice filmed this in June, talking about Nepal's melting glaciers. On 26 August, a glacier collapsed above the Trishuli valley. More than 1,300 people lost their lives.

Nepal had never taken part in proceedings at the International Court of Justice. Rana and his team spent a month going to the ministries almost every day to change that. They drafted the documents Nepal submitted to the court and reviewed the script the government used in the courtroom.
