The government has announced plans for 100 new walk-in mental health centres in places like banks and libraries - and you won’t need a referral.

There are also going to be 59 new dedicated mental health A&Es.

The fact that people in England needing immediate care for their mental health problems will be able to access specialist walk-in hubs close to their home could be game-changing - and is a huge step forward.

Of course, it’s just the beginning. With around 1.8 million people on mental health waiting lists this can't come soon enough, but absolutely all of us deserve to access these services. So we're going to need more.

We need more hubs, more trained staff, and a bigger slice of the pie if we’re going to turn the tide on su***de - which is still sitting at a 25-year high.

Government plans network of nearly 200 specialist services to help those facing mental health crises.

This isn’t us saying that a packet of crisps can fix everything when life’s unbearably hard. It’s just a reminder that, when things feel like a bit of a sh*tshow, the small stuff matters.

"I reached out to them when I was struggling with my own mental health issues a few years ago. They do so much good work for mental health and it's something I really do believe in." 💚

Belonging is su***de prevention.

As Pride Month comes to a close, it's worth remembering that Pride isn't just a celebration.

It's about people feeling safe, accepted and able to be themselves. And a time when LGBTQ+ rights and inclusion are being debated in law, policy, and everyday life, it’s more important than ever.

Feeling like you belong can be life-saving.

If you're struggling right now, you’re not alone. Support is available 💚

Patrick isn’t an expert. He’s just a mate who cared.

If you’re worried about starting a chat with a mate who might be struggling, you don’t have to do it alone.
