Do you know what defines a ‘refugee’? You may surprised to learn that refugee status is only given to those facing persecution on grounds of race, religion, nationality, membership of a social group, or political opinion. We believe that those fleeing war or environmental disaster should be considered asylum seekers as well, and be integrated into the obligations of the UK under the spirit of the 1951 UN Convention on Refugees.
