This year’s Pears Short Film Fund and Dangoor Short Doc Fund span the length of the country, capturing Jewish life in all its variety - something we at UK Jewish Film are very proud of.

A rural Scottish school stages an unlikely retelling of King Herod in King of the Jews. A group of Jewish walkers heads into the hills outside Manchester in Rambling. And a rabbi asks a daring question in a Leeds fish and chip shop in Fish, Chips & Faith - among many more.

Watch all of this year’s films when they premiere this November as part of UK Jewish Film’s 30th anniversary festival.

To celebrate our 30th anniversary, we're bringing back audience-favourites from our archive.

This week, it's Aurélie Saada's directorial debut, ROSE, a life-affirming Parisian Jewish family drama starring Françoise Fabian, Grégory Montel and Aure Atika.

When patriarch Philippe dies, his wife Rose believes her life is over, until a chance dinner party reignites her joie de vivre, much to the discomfort of her three loving but dysfunctional children.

Watch it as part of our online festival for our 30th anniversary this November.

We went behind the scenes with Dangoor Doc director Hermione Oldham to see how filming's going for Oslo Court, one of this year's Dangoor UKJF Short Doc Fund films.

Every year, five filmmakers are commissioned to make a 4-5 minute documentary capturing untold stories of modern British-Jewish life, mentored by BAFTA-nominated filmmaker Benjamin Till. Watch above to hear from Hermione, and catch Oslo Court when it premieres at the festival this November.

Fancy joining our Young Jury? Hear from Clémence McAvoy, one of our Young Jury, above on what it’s like.

Every year, fifteen 18-30 year olds join the Young Jury to watch and select the Best Short Film at the festival. You don’t have to be Jewish to apply. Jurors present at JW3 in November and join our Alumni network for life, with a CV credit and complimentary tickets where possible.

Huge congratulations to the team behind BESHERT, our 2025 Pears Short Film Fund winner, which is heading to HollyShorts in LA this August, an Oscar-qualifying festival.

Beshert follows an unexpected friendship between a grumpy old man and a reluctant bar mitzvah boy in a Leeds care home. Starring Anton Lesser and Kit Rakusen, directed by Lewis Rose, produced by Jason Solomons and Naomi Gryn.
