What makes beam such a valuable partner for agencies?

It’s the collaboration, the standards, and the shared commitment to doing things the right way.

In this short video, Andrew Deakin from Conference Care shares why being part of beam gives agencies a real advantage:

“It is a fountain of knowledge of information, and it allows us as a business to shape best practices for the industry.”

It’s this combination of trusted partnerships and professional standards that continues to strengthen our agency community.

Last year at the beam Annual Forum, Mariana Saraceni delivered one of the most moving and memorable sessions of the event, reminding us of the power of human connection, kindness, and finding happiness through life's challenges.

Today, we're proud to support Mariana as she honours the memory of her daughter Olivia, who would have celebrated her 10th birthday this year.

To mark this milestone, Mariana is raising £10,000 for Sands, the charity that supports bereaved parents and families affected by pregnancy loss and the death of a baby. As part of her challenge, she'll be walking 100km non-stop along the Cotswold Way Ultra Challenge on 13 June.

Alongside her fundraising, Mariana has once again created her June Calendar of Joy – a collection of simple acts of kindness, reflection, and connection inspired by Olivia's legacy. It's a beautiful reminder that even the smallest actions can make a meaningful difference.

Please join us in supporting Mariana, spreading a little joy, and helping raise awareness for an important cause 👉 https://www.justgiving.com/page/olivia10?utm_source=ig&utm_medium=social&utm_content=link_in_bio&fbclid=PAZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAc3J0YwZhcHBfaWQPOTM2NjE5NzQzMzkyNDU5AAGnlmMh2B5xcXC_BfKEXl6lEDepUd_xZ3-NHowIwF_vdojDc6TNbYccV515Co0_aem_ANDaPThipdAw5qotgv600g

beam and the Meetings Industry Association (MIA) have issued a joint response following the announcement regarding cuts to VisitBritain’s business events team.

At a time when the UK business events sector contributes more than £33.6bn annually to the economy and drives international trade and inward investment, we believe reducing support sends the wrong message to an industry that delivers real economic impact across the UK.

Positive to see the proposed tourism tax now being formally examined through a cross-party inquiry.

As highlighted by David Tremmil in this Conference & Incentive Travel (C&IT) article, it’s vital that the wider impact on business travel, meetings, events and the UK’s competitiveness is fully understood before any decisions are made.

The business events sector delivers significant economic value to destinations across the UK - supporting local supply chains, regional growth and year-round visitor activity. An inquiry provides an important opportunity for industry voices to be heard and for evidence-led discussion to take place.

beam welcomes the chance for constructive collaboration between government and industry to ensure future policy supports both local communities and the continued success of the UK events sector.
