Tomorrow night is quiz night at Diss & District Bowls Club's Thursday Summer Social, and Quizmaster Neil has been busy cultivating the evil side of his little grey cells, to ensure something a little bit different to prior quizzes.

Last quiz saw a change of holders for the TSS Quizzing Trophy, with Pond Life taking over the Trophy from Dynamike (finally).
Will PondLife retain?
Will Dynamike reclaim the converted Trophy??
or.... Will a new quizzing champion be crowned??

What a fabulous evening had by all who attended our final away match in the Border League this year, hosted by the hilarious and gregarious Darren James, and the whole Dickleburgh Team.

Bright warm sunshine, as bright as the laughter which rang out all evening, as a story of 3 differing rinks developed throughout the match.
Rink 5, the hosts took a storming lead, with one rink looking to remedy that, until the final Dickleburgh wood of that end turned that idea to dust, and even though Diss fought back hard, Dickleburgh won that rink.
Rink 3, Diss, led by Lenny, went out to an early lead, and held into that lead, steadily extending it to secure the rink for Diss.
Rink 1, Dickleburgh took a solid lead, but Diss, under team captain Claire, fought back hard, and by the 11th end, had drawn level at 12 shots all. This intensity continued, and the rink stayed close, tying at 13 all two ends later, and ending with Diss winning the rink by 2 points.

Total shot score - Dickleburgh 48 - Diss 53.

Match result - Dickleburgh 2 points, Diss 7 points

The evening retired to the bar for drinks and nibbles,and more laughter, until Captain Darren declared the night at an end.

Thanks to Dickleburgh for a totally enjoyable evening

Apologies for delayed report.
Congratulations to Di and Keith, last week's winners at Thursday Summer Social.

Games last week included, target bowls, bowl-a-pig, and tic/tac/toe, all played with bowls woods, and all aimed to improve your drawing game and accuracy.

Next Thursday sees another round of GamesMaster Brians dastardly rule changes 😉...

Interested? Come on down at 645 (or before)for team pairing and a 7pm start.

Do I have to play??? No, of course not - bar is open, fans will be on, so come and join the ever increasing chorus of hecklers - sorry spectators - enjoying a couple of hours of good times and good company.

Great morning, this fine Saturday morning, at the Club's indoor rinks.

Rinks 1 & 2 hosted a selection of people who attended this year's Open day last month, taking advantage of some more formal coaching, introducing the sport, some history and basic etiquette and techniques with our resident coaching and new members teams.

Rinks 3 & 4 hosted 2 games amongst our joiners from Class of 25 (last years Open Day, taster sessions, and later joiners).

This session runs from 10 till 12 (arrivals for 930) on a Saturday - and it was good to see all rinks booked out to various club members on the 12 noon slot, be it for personal private practice, of for a friendly game between friends. 😀

It really is a joy to see so many making use of our Club outside of the Organised Leagues games, and Club Team matches.

Owner now found - thanks to all for assistance given

Does anyone recognise this car?

It appears to have been abandoned in our car park, as it has been there for several weeks (according to our observations and cctv) in an insecure state, and now appears to be unmovable due to a flat nearside front tyre.

Concerned that it may have been stolen and dumped with its owners unaware of its location, as car park is not visible from the road.

Please DM us if you have any information on the vehicle.
